The line graph compares three economical sectors in terms of the proportion of people having job in

the UK over a 10-year period between 2000 and 2010.

Overall, what stands out from the graph is that the employment rates of both self employed and
public sector were risen, whereas the figure for private sector went in opposite direction.

Looking at the details, as regards public sector, the figure started at 38 in 2000. Having remained
constant at around 38 from 2000 to 2002, there was a fluctuation from 38 to 45 over the next 4
years. And then the proportion of people who are employed grew up slightly, finishing at around 50
in 2010. Looking at self employed, the trend was similar. The employment rates started at 18 in
2000. After that, there was a level off at 20 in the first 2 years of 2000s then the percentage of
employed people fluctuated from 20 to 50 between 2002 and 2006. Then the figure negligibly grew,
reaching about 50 in 2010.

On the other hand, the reverse was true to private sector. The number started at nearly 50 in 2000.
Although reaching the highest rate in 3 sectors in 2000, there was then a plummet over a decade
from 2000 to 2010.
