¿HOW CAN YOU BE ENVIRONMENTALLY AT WORK?

Our individual actions can help reduce environmental deterioration, such as the
greenhouse effect. Therefore, it is important to reduce energy and raw material
consumption in the workplace, adopt sustainable habits or minimize pollution and, in this
way, we will be able to take care of the ecosystem. In my personal experience, I have 5
tips to help the environment in my work, which are:
1-Turn off the devices
The number of electrical devices that are plugged in and remain at rest when not in use:
screens, computers, printers, routers, microwaves, I always turn them off when they are
not going to be unused for a long time, as a measure to take care of the environment and
at the same time. to save energy and money.
2-Optimize the use of printers
Print in black and white whenever possible, print on both sides, recycle ink and cartridges
or use multifunction printers (they save energy).
3-Monitor the lighting
There are rooms that are not used all the time, such as meeting rooms, kitchens or
bathrooms, so the lights must be turned off when the rooms are empty.
4-Recycle at work
Work is like a second home where many hours are spent and a lot of waste is generated.
This is precisely why it is ideal to place recycling containers to throw away recyclable
items, such as organic waste, paper, cans, glass, cardboard or plastic containers.
When it is possible,
5-Go to work by bicycle or using public transportation.
In addition to benefiting the environment, it is also beneficial for my health. This also
reduces fuel consumption and, therefore, pollution.

¿WHAT KIND OF INCENTIVES COULD A GREEN COMPANY OFFER TO ITS

EMPLOYEES?
A green company could offer a wide range of incentives to its employees to motivate them
and foster a more sustainable culture. Some ideas include:
• Training and professional development programs on topics related to sustainability and
the environment. This will not only improve the skills of employees but also increase their
environmental awareness.
• Discounts or rebates on sustainable products and services for employees, such as
electric bicycles, green cleaning products, organic foods,
• Teleworking days to reduce the company's carbon footprint and allow employees to work
in a more flexible and balanced way.
• Offer financial incentives, such as bonuses or shares, to employees who suggest and
implement innovative ideas to improve sustainability in the company.
• Organize environmental volunteer activities and events for employees, such as beach
cleanups or tree planting, to encourage environmental awareness and community
involvement
¿IN WHAT OTHER WAYS COULD BUSINESSES INVOLVE THEIR EMPLOYEES IN
ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES?

1-Constant reminders.
Instill in workers the importance of saving water and energy, as well as minimizing waste,
through reminders in break rooms, bathrooms, conference or waiting rooms, and the
company cafeteria. Do not limit this communication to a simple meeting, but to places that
employees regularly use.
2-Use technology efficiently and appropriately.
Choose the appropriate communication vehicle, depending on the audience and the result you
want to obtain. Some companies use some social networks, while others enhance messaging
services more
3-Create competitiveness between your own workers and those of another company.
