Due to poorer countries experiencing a ‘brain drain’, they are seeing many

professionals, such as doctors and teachers, leaving to work in more developed

countries.

What problems does it cause?

What solutions can be suggested to deal with this solution?

People all over the world are endeavoring to create a better life for themselves. This effort is
more noticeable in undeveloped countries, like middle Eastern countries, as their access to
welfare facilities is limited. The people of these areas, especially experts who can not imagine a
bright future for themselves, are more willing to immigrate to developed countries in order to
spend the rest of their lives more conveniently. Therefore, undeveloped countries will face a lack
of skilled manpower which is one of the biggest problems that impacts the whole country. In next
paragraphs, Caused problems of this issue will be discussed and solutions will be proposed.

Brain drain is a serious point that poorer countries are more facing and itself can cause many
essential issues for these countries. Facing a shortage of professionals is one of the most
important problems that can be pointed out. Lack of experts, such as doctors, nurses and
engineers who leave their own country to achieve a better job and financial position, will cause
these countries to be administered by improper people who are not skillful enough for the job
position that they are placed in. Therefore, these countries will be in a more detrimental
situation. The other problems that can be pointed out are: increase of diseases and inability to
treat them due to the lack of skilled doctors, aging population due to migration of young people,
decrease of occupation rate because of entrepreneurs shortage and failure to educate students
properly due to migration of expert teachers.

Solutions for this essential issue should be presented by sociologists but it will be given some
suggestions which may be efficient in my point of view. Undeveloped countries will experience a
‘brain drain’ as long as the welfare of people is not prioritized by their government so
fundamental changes in the departments of the country’s administration should occur. Another
solution for saving experts is financing and providing proper job positions for them; It should be
considered that if one was financially and occupationally secure, they would not leave their
family and country. Therefore, increasing wages and controlling inflation is an approach that
should be taken by the government in this issue. A situation should be provided for some
students, who are more capable, to go to developed countries for studying at the full cost of the
government and they should be returned to the country after their graduation. The scientific
level of the country will be elevated through importing these students’ up-to-date knowledge and
experts will be preserved for the country.

In conclusion, the desire for progress has been exciting in all human generations since the past;
this tendency leads people to immigrate from poorer countries to developed ones due to
improve their living standards. The most important issue is the decreasing numbers of
professionals such as doctors, engineers and teachers, who play an important role in the growth
and survival of the country. This action leads these countries to be more backward than before.
Financing and enabling convenient occupation positions can prevent people from leaving their
home.
