BAD EFFECTS OF BRAIN DRAIN

In recent times, more and more experts are leaving their own countries in order to get better
opportunities in developed nations. My essay will examine the negative impacts of this
worrying phenomenon.

First and foremost, it is obvious that the lack of professionals in a particular area is
extremely dangerous. Since people who live in the countryside have to travel a long way to
get treatments and cures, many of them are not able to reach urban hospitals and end up
dying. As a result, we can see endless queues of patients at the hospitals. The regional living
standard cannot improve sustainably in the absence of an adequate health care system.

Secondly, brain drain leaves demanding work fields with no employees. For instance,
careers in technology fields often require candidates who equipped themselves with a great
qualification. Consequently, there are plenty of opening positions but there are not enough
suitable applicants. It is the fact that workers with those abilities tend to seek for jobs at
companies which are outside their own country.

Last but not least, the emigration of well-educated workers causes a serious effect on
the growth of any nation. For instance, 100 dollars a month is an average salary of a
civilian in a particular country. This number will significantly decrease if numerous well-
trained employees leave their own places and look for better jobs in other nations.

In conclusion, there are various negative impacts of brain drain on a country. Governments
should take immediate actions to overcome those problems in order to help their nations to
develop.
