RECYCLE PLASTIC REPLACE WOOD

A. EVECUTIVE SUMMARY.
Recycle Plastic Replace Wood is a Project that involves
retaining, collecting and recycling plastic in a way that is much
more profitable to both the community and the environment.
This project is meant to be launched in primary schools where
pupils will be collecting as much plastic as they can in exchange
for school materials and stationery.
Once the plastic is obtained, they are then processed into
various products but the main product is plastic rods which are
meant to replace the use of wood in construction. These plastic
rods can be used when making cabins which would have used
wood for their set up. These are widely applicable because they
can be replicated and be used instead of wood.
This project has been inspired by the need to promote
awareness on the importance of environmental conservation
initiating all forms of recycling and freeing plastic infested
communities. This project also looks forward to helping primary
school students with acquiring their basic educational needs
and supplies simply by helping out with cleaning their
community. Recycling plastic is the first step then, it is moved
onto construction to help reduce the use of wood which spares
a habitat for animals, insects and most importantly influencing
a sustainable ecosystem.
Stats show that there are more than 7 million primary
school students as per a study conducted 2019 to 2021, They
play a part in conserving and or polluting the environment in
numerous ways, Launching this project will raise their
awareness on the importance of a healthy environment, reduce
pollution and increase environmental recovery from plastic
simultaneously. Their efforts in collecting plastic is another way
of improving their education in terms of environmental ethics
and the necessary materials they need at school.
Projections on the amount of plastic which could be
collected is progressive in the course or time after launching
the project.
This project is also aimed at providing other services to the
community specifically housing facilities and health insurance.
The families in participation being in need will be provided with
a house with two rooms, a kitchen, living room and a
bathroom. They will be making payments in a monthly basis
which will be stipulated in a contract.
Further more, families will be able to attain health
insurances that will cover health expenses. This will be
provided to each child in the family and the parents. The
insurances will be valid for a year and hence forth being
updated annually.
Through housing facilities and heal insurances, the project
will be able to reach out and impact the society at a greater
extent. Starting with reducing plastic and its impacts upon the
environment, accommodation and health insurance is a way of
bringing an assurance to a healthier and a less risky life.
Apart from plastic, this project is mainly driven by the need
to address pollution and it is also meant to target glass and
metal recycling. Most communities are dominated by plastic
but glass and metal are also a part of the problems in the
environment. Such materials include beverage bottles, broken
tube lights, bulbs, utensils and other home appliances. On the
other hand metallic materials include pieces left out after
construction, disposed car parts, pieces of iron sheets, iron
nails, barbed and binding wires etc. Reduction of these
materials will reduce the risk of accidents and lower the risk of
children getting hurt while playing or any other form of
environmental destruction.
Having seen the projections and how the project is meant to
operate the project is subjected to a number of challenges even
when it is fully functional. One of the major setbacks is the
children's attitude on plastic and how they were not raised with
sensitivity to plastic, their response may not be as efficient.
Also the cooperation from the parents is not yet granted but
most parents would probably participate positively.
To help tackle these problems the project will be backed up
with a seminar which will brief the students and if necessary
their parents too on the aim of the whole project and how it
maybe profitable to them and the community in general. The
parents would then play their part in influencing their children
in conserving the environment and living sustainably with a
good coexistence In the ecosystem. This will be more
affirmative with help from the local government in enforcing
the whole project.
