INTERVIEW GUIDE QUESTION WITH PROMPTS

Opening Spiel:

Good (Morning/Afternoon) (Ma’am/Sir) _____________________. Thank

you for responding to my invitation as a participant in this research study. To briefly
introduce ourselves, I am Norodin T. Panalunsong Jr., SN, Jobair A. Datumanong,
SN, Rheynel Nietes, SN. We are the BSN-3 students from the University of
Mindanao, Matina Campus in Davao City. Currently, we are conducting research
entitled “The Live Experiences of Fire Incident Victims in Brgy. 76-A Bucana,
Davao City: A Phenomenological Study.” This study explores the complex and
multifaceted experiences of those who have been affected by fire incidents in this
specific area, seeking to gain a deeper understanding of the emotional, psychological,
and social impacts of these traumatic events.

Fires are a common and devastating occurrence in many communities, and

Brgy. 76 - A Bucana, Davao City is no exception. The consequences of fire incidents
can be far-reaching, affecting not only the physical structures but also the people who
reside within them. We recognize the urgent need to examine the lived experiences
of fire victims in order to gain a better understanding of their needs, and to develop
appropriate strategies to support them during their recovery process.

The study uses a phenomenological approach to explore the unique lived

experiences of the participants, in order to gain a deeper understanding of their
emotions, thoughts, and behaviors before, during, and after the incidents. This
approach allows us to uncover the essence of the fire victims' experiences, and to
appreciate the ways in which they make sense of their traumatic experiences. It is a
qualitative research methodology that is well-suited to understanding human
experiences, and it is particularly useful in contexts where we seek to explore a
relatively unexplored phenomenon, such as the lived experience of fire victims in
this area.

Furthermore, if participants will feel uncomfortable, they can refuse to answer

and still receive credit for their participation while ensuring that their information
will be discarded. The study is expected to take around 30 minutes - 1 hour, and upon
completion, participants will be given the results, and they are free to ask any
questions about the study. Participation is voluntary, and all data will be kept
confidential, without any association with the participant's name.

The participants are requested to sign below to indicate their understanding of

their rights and willingness to participate in the study. Thank you for considering this
study.
