ABSTRACT

To use concrete as a load be a ring member it is necessary to increase tensile resistance

property of the concrete member. Both of the two methods provide tensile strength to the
structural element but do not increase the inherent tensile strength of concrete matrix itself .The
overall performance of reinforced concrete composite material is affected then the individual
performance of the concrete itself. This led to the search for new material i.e. two phase
composite material in which weak concrete matrix is reinforced with strong fibre to produce
composite of superior property and high performance. In two phase composite fibrous material,
fibre inhibit the deformation of the concrete matrix and impact to increase the properties of
stiffness and strength. The main purpose of adding fiber to concrete is to achieve superior
properties of plain concrete. In this investigation the mechanical properties of fibre reinforced
concrete is studied by replacing cement with marble dust powder and addition of polypropylene
fibre with different weight fractions with respect to cement.

ABSTRACT

The utilization of waste material as mineral admixture in cement provides a satisfactory

solution to some of the environmental concerns and problems associated with waste
management. Polymer as admixture can improve the properties like higher strength and lower
water Permeability than the conventional concrete. Polyester resin is used in mortar and
concrete as an admixture to increase resistance to water penetration, improve abrasion resistance
and durability the objective of the present investigation is to study the behavior of polymer
concrete in the hardened state. The variables studied include the grade of concrete and dosage
of polymer. The Three different grades of concrete M20, M25, and M30 with polymer quantities
starting from were used in the present work. The various mechanical properties like

ABSTRACT

Concrete is a composite material containing cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and
water. Fine aggregate is required in large quantities for manufacturing of concrete. Generally river
sand is used as a fine aggregate. Increase in demand of concrete leads to scarcity of river sand.
Limitations have been laid on the large scale mining of river sand from river beds. The main motive
of this project is to utilize the sea sand as fine aggregate in concrete for construction after the
removal of chloride content from the sea sand. The corrosion making properly that called chloride
content can be eliminated from the sea sand by using sand washing process. An experimental study
is made on the strength aspects of cement mortar by partially replacing river sand with Sea Sand.
The fine aggregate proportion from the design mix was replaced partially in percentages of 25%,
50%, 75% and 100% by sea sand. Compressive strength test was conducted on the various concrete
specimens with various fine aggregate proportions and the results were tabulated. In this study
gives the comparative experimental results in compressive and tensile strengths of concrete for
M30 grade under curing periods about 7 days, 14days and 28 days replaced fine aggregate with
sea sand. The behavior of concrete by partial replacement of fine aggregate with sea sand has been
studied. With the increase in the percentage of sea sand replacement in concrete, the compressive
strength of the concrete significantly reduced.

ABSTRACT

Nowadays almost all the countries are forcing to wear the helmet while driving two wheeler
and not to drive the vehicles when the person consumes alcohol. But still in many places, these
rules are being violated by the people. Due to this violation, our society is facing many life-
threatening problems unexpectedly. Though many strict rules are enacted by the government these
problems are still continuing. At present there is no effective method to prevent this, so we have
invented a system called “Avoiding Drunken Drive System” (ADD SYSTEM). This ADD
system has been embedded in the helmet and vehicle. The system has two effective circuits, one
circuit is installed in the helmet and another circuit is in vehicle. The circuit installed in the helmet
has two sensors namely IR sensor and Alcohol sensor. The IR sensor detects whether the driver
wears helmet and the Alcohol sensor detects whether the driver consumed alcohol. These signals
are sent to the receiver which is embedded in the secondary circuit. The signals that are received
by the secondary circuit will control the spark plug current production with the help of
microprocessor. Thus, it will not turn on the vehicle, when the rider is without helmet or in drunken
condition. A drive against drunken driving is the need to promote road safety. Drunken driving
and its subsequent catastrophe can be avoided by monitoring the alcohol level, thereby reducing
drunken driving. Any mechanism or device to reduce such deaths will be of great help. This
purpose is served by our ADD system.

ABSTRACT

Plasma Transferred Arc Welding (PTAW) has attracted increasing attention for its
effective protection against corrosion, thermal shock, and abrasion. The quality of hard faced
components depends on the weld bead geometry and dilution, which must be properly controlled
and optimized to ensure better desirable mechanical characteristics of the weld. Good weld is
achieved by selecting the right input parameters in this process and hence study of these input
variables such as welding current, speed, etc. gives us a good analysis of how to achieve desirable
weld bead characteristics using the known input variables. The shape of weld bead geometry
obtained in the PTA welding process is an indication of the quality and health of a good weld. In
this study, different weld beads would be deposited using PTA process with different parameters
(welding current, travel speed and powder feed rate) using cobalt based powdered filler metal. A
Fuzzy Interface System (FIS) is adopted to compare the out parameters for achieving desired
Hardness, Width, Height and the Percentage of Fe content after welding.

ABSTRACT
Agriculture is the primary occupation in our country for a long time. In India, approximately 70%
of populace relies upon farming and one 0.33 of the nation’s capital comes from farming. But, due
to migration of humans from rural to urban there is dilemma in agriculture to triumph over this
hassle. To overcome this issue, advanced agriculture strategies, the usage of IOT is employed. The
internet of things (IOT) is transforming the agriculture allowing the farmers with the wide range
of strategies together with precision and sustainable agriculture to face demanding situations in the
subject. IOT permits the gadgets to be sensed and controlled remotely across current community
version. The paper comprises of sensors that feel the sector parameters including temperature,
humidity, moisture and fertility within the farm. The sensed values are verified and later dispatched
to the Wi-Fi module and from wireless module the confirmed statistics are sent to the farmer’s
cellular or computer the use of cloud. The farmers are also notified by means of SMS, if the sphere
wishes a care. An algorithm is advanced with threshold values of temperature, humidity, moisture
and fertility that are programmed right into a node MCU to control water amount. Farmer can
automate the motor from everywhere inside the global. In this paper, we have elaborately

ABSTRACT
A hybrid ac/dc micro-grid system is designed with the help of interlinking converters. The
effective usage and flexible control of micro-grid are done by large bandwidth triple loop control.
It has three control loop that an inner current loop, outer voltage loop and grid current loop the
overall control loops is finally connected to PWM so that the input gating pulse for both the ac/dc
input system can be controlled according to the output response. This control scheme can be used
effectively in both grid-connected and islanded mode. Thus, the control system provides enhanced
stability and flexibility of operation. The multiple control technique of the interlinking converter
plays a major role. The grid- connected and islanded modes of operation can be effectively carried
by the triple-loop control. On the basis the grid- connected mode is carried out when the supply
from the grid is enough to supply the load connected to it. when the grid is not enough to supply
the load then the role of solar and wind comes to picture. As per the design, both ac and dc power
are generated. The ac is generated through a wind generator and the dc is generated using a solar
generator. The solar and wind are selected for renewable energy generation just because solar and
wind have many advantages in comparing to other forms of renewable energy. The solar and wind
generation will not have maintenance cost and the drawback of solar can be overcome by a wind
that is when solar cannot able to generate power especially at nighttime the power needed to the
load can be supplied by the wind. Thus, the sensitive load can be supplied by renewable energy
and there will be no load tripping. The seamless control can be done by triple loop control and
load ability of the system can also be increased.

ABSTRACT

Concrete is normally prepared by using crushed stone, river sand, cement and water measured by
weight in a required proportion. These materials are obtained from natural resources. Continuous
use of these materials on a large-scale lead to their depletion causing strain on the environment.
Therefore, it is worth exploring the use of materials in concrete making. Some feasibility studies
have established that bottom ash, a waste material obtained from thermal power stations and
sludge, a waste material obtained from sewage treatment plants, can be used as a fine aggregate
instead of river sand. Bottom ash is agglomerated ash particles, formed in pulverized coal
furnaces that are too large to be carried in the flue gases and impinge on the furnace walls or fall
through open grates to an ash hopper at the bottom of the furnace .Sewage sludge refers to the
residual, semi-solid material that is produced as a by-product during sewage treatment of
industrial or municipal wastewater. Bottom ash and sludge is used as a replacement for fine
aggregate and sufficiently well-graded in size to avoid the need for blending with other fine
aggregates to meet graduation requirements. The use of bottom ash and sludge in normal strength
concrete is a new dimension in concrete mix design and if applied on large scale would
revolutionize the construction industry, by economizing the construction cost and decreasing the
ash content. The concrete specimens are prepared using bottom ash and sludge as fine aggregate.
These specimens are then tested for destructive tests and the results are then compared.

ABSTRACT

Effective patient queue management to minimize patient wait delays and patient Overcrowding is
one of the major challenges faced by hospitals. Unnecessary and annoying Waits for long periods
result in substantial human resource and time wastage and increase the frustration endured by
patients. For each patient in the queue, the total treatment time of all the patients before him is the
time that he must wait. It would be convenient and preferable if the patients could receive the most
efficient treatment plan and know the predicted waiting time through a mobile application that
updates in real time. Therefore, we propose a Patient Treatment Time Prediction (PTTP) algorithm
to predict the waiting time for each treatment task for a patient. We use realistic patient data from
various hospitals to obtain a patient treatment time model for each task. Based on this large-scale,
realistic dataset, the treatment time for each patient in the current queue of each task is predicted.
Based on the predicted waiting time, a Hospital Queuing-Recommendation (HQR) system is
developed. HQR calculates and predicts an efficient and convenient treatment plan recommended
for the patient. Because of the large-scale, realistic dataset and the requirement for real-time
response, the PTTP algorithm and HQR system mandate efficiency and low-latency response. We
use an Apache Spark-based cloud implementation at the National Supercomputing Centre in
Changsha to achieve the goals. Extensive experimentation and simulation results demonstrate the
effectiveness and applicability of our proposed model to recommend an effective treatment plan
for patients to minimize their wait times in hospitals.

ABSTRACT
The problem of gas leakage and fire is often encountered in our day-to-day life. LPG, Liquified
Petroleum Gas, is highly flammable gas used as fuel in heating appliances. Leakage of this gas
raises the risk of building fire, suffocation or an explosion. The mentioned problem can be solved
with the development of reliable techniques to detect gas leakage. As soon as gas leakage will be
detected, user will be notified via SMS and call so that he/she can turn off gas valve from
anywhere in his work place. The issue of flame and fire at kitchen can be monitored with the help
of fire sensor. The buzzer starts beeping whenever fire is detected. In addition to these, it is often
found that a person forgets to book gas cylinder due to his/her busy schedule. The main aim of
this paper is to design an IOT based Smart Gas Management System that will be able to detect
gas leakage and fire. With the help of load sensor, automatic booking of a gas cylinder is also
facilitated. Notification is sent to the booking agency to book a gas cylinder whenever load cell
detects that the weight of gas cylinder has reached below a threshold value. At the same time,
user will be notified about gas cylinder going empty.

ABSTRACT
After a thought process of several ideas we concluded doing a project related to reciprocating
mechanism then we decided to do it with the help of sector gear. A sector gear is a gear that has
teeth in short section of its circumference. Then the remaining portion of the gear is smooth without
any teeth. The main function of sector gear is to convert rotary motion into reciprocating motion.
In our mechanism we decided to keep the sector gear on opposite sides of rack. Through the design
calculation we have placed the two gears and a rack. After that we have to place a gear motor as if
to rotate the sector gears so in order to do that we place a gear train in which three gears with same
module are fixed in that middle one is smaller and either sides larger gears are placed and the gear
motor is connect to the smaller gear with the help of shaft and the two meshing gears are connected
to the sector gear with the help of shaft . then power is supplied with the help of adapter and gear
motor will rotate the smaller gear and that smaller gear will rotate the two larger gear and that will
rotate the sector gears then the reciprocating motion is achieved.

ABSTRACT

A micro grid is a system consisting of distributed energy resources and controllable loads that can
be operated in both grids connected and stand-alone mode. Micro grid consists of renewable
energy resources which are intermittent in nature. Due to this intermittency, availability of power
generated varies with respect to time and environment. In-order to achieve power and energy
efficiency, an effective power management system is required. By utilizing the energy generated
at various times of day effectively, this power management can be attained. Proposed method
focuses on devising an effective power management strategy for a micro grid system to attain
higher energy efficiency with available resources.

ABSTRACT

The effects of cropping, anhedral, Gurney flaplike strips and winglets on the vortex flow and
aerodynamic properties of a reverse delta wing (RDW) were investigated at Re = 3.81*105. The
cropping led to a minor change in the RDW vortex flow property and aerodynamics while the
anhedral produced inferior aerodynamics but strengthened vortices compared to the baseline wing.
The Gurney flaplike strips increased both the lift and drag and vortex strength. Meanwhile, the
winglets kept the vortex flow properties mainly unchanged. The lift force predicted based on the
vortex strength was found to be within 4% to 14% difference compared to the force balance data,
which suggests that although the outboard location of the RDW trailing vortices appeared to imply
their irrelevance to the lift production, their strength, however, represented a significant portion of
the lift. Finally, the lift-induced drag computed based on the vorticity flowfield was also found to
account for 17–27% of the total drag. The present measurements will serve as a comparison for
next-phase ground effect study.

Key words: winglets, lift, drag, Vortices, Anhedral.

ABSTRACT
In this work, a control methodology has been proposed to determine the optimal procedure strategy
for a Photovoltaic - diesel MG with industrial loads. Under the grid outages condition, the effective
control method operates both in grid-connected and isolated mode. A unique property of the
industrial loads is that they have low power factors. Therefore, the reactive power consumption of
the load cannot be neglected. Hence in this work, a model of a Photovoltaic - diesel MG is
developed considering the voltage as well as current of the microgrid components for covering the
industrial load demand and economic operation of the diesel generator. The diesel generator is
managing with the recurrence of the microgrid while the inverter utilized in the Photovoltaic
system directing the voltage at the purpose of basic coupling. Essentially if the diesel generator is
failure due to any of the reasons, the photovoltaic system can additionally be included with an
auxiliary signal dependent on the frequency deviation to keep up the frequency.

ABSTRACT
Concrete is the most widely used construction material in civil engineering industry because of
its high structural strength and stability. The concrete industry is constantly looking for
supplementary cementitious material with the objective of reducing the solid waste disposal
problem. The production of cement results in emission of many greenhouse gases in atmosphere,
which are responsible for global warming. The ground granulated blast furnace slag is a waste
product from the iron manufacturing industry, which may be used as partial replacement of
cement in concrete due to its inherent cementing properties. Meta kaolin, or heat-treated clay,
may be used as a Supplementary Cementations Material in concrete to reduce cement
consumption, to increase strength. Meta kaolin reduces the porosity of concrete. Mineral
admixtures such as ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) are commonly used in concrete
because they improve durability and reduce porosity as well as improve the interface with the
aggregate. when the materials are replaced with cement has emerged as a major alternative to
conventional concrete and has rapidly gain the concrete industries attention due to its cement
savings, energy savings, cost savings, socio-economic and environmental benefits. An
experimental investigation is carried out on a concrete containing GGBS and METAKAOLIN by
20% weight of cement. Material was produced, tested and compared with conventional concrete
in terms of workability and strength. Material was produced tested and compared with
conventional concrete in terms of workability and strength. Steel fiber added to increase the
bonding strength. These tests were carried out on standard cube of 150x150x150 mm for 28 days

ABSTRACT
The project focuses on the reduction of length of the jet core at the nozzle exit which is responsible
for the unbearable noise creation in supersonic flights. The tabs are generally used at the rear
section of the nozzle which will provide an obstruction in the jet flow. This disturbance in the flow
will cause the hot gases from the core to mix immediately with cool gases in the atmosphere
because of this the length of the shock train will become small. By providing only 5% of
obstruction in the flow using tabs, the shock trains can be manipulated and at the same time the
thrust amount will not be diminished. Here, an attempt is made to reduce the jet core length using
a variety of tab designs. The Ansys Fluent software is used as a simulation tool to analyze the best
tab design and the analyses are made for a nozzle with and without tabs. All simulations are
performed at supersonic velocity to determine the behavior of the tab when the shock at the nozzle
section is created. Both the results for with and without tabs are compared with the other research
papers. The result indicates that by providing 5% of obstruction to the main flow by inserting
specific tab design, the reduction of jet core length can be achieved.

ABSTRACT

Present generation need more energy for daily consumption, this leads to exhaust of non-
renewable energy sources. Hence tapping energy from non-conventional sources is an important
aspect of energy production all over the world. So our idea is to make use of the vast amount of
wing energy generated during motion of the fast moving trains. Here we are going to use
VAHT(vertical axis wing turbine) to generate electricity using the wind turbines in the fast moving
trains. By this method our project taps energy in a possible way which is eco-friendly, and can
produce electricity which is used to supply for the electrical equipment like fan, lights, charging
ports etc inside the train compartment. The main principle of this project is to save energy and
simultaneously generating energy.

ABSTRACT

Bubble deck slab is a new innovative and sustainable floor system to be used as a self-supporting
concrete floor. It is the slab in which a particular amount of concrete is replaced by the plastic balls
which are made by the waste plastic material, which reduces the self-weight of the structure. The
method which replaces the concrete by recycled balls with less amount of concrete is known as
“The Bubble Deck Technology”. Bubble Deck, a unique light, biaxial concrete slab, is generally
designed using the conventional design method. Bubble deck slab is a method of virtually
eliminating all concrete from the middle of a floor slab, which is not performing any structural
function, thereby dramatically reducing structural dead weight. By using Bubble Deck method,
the quantity of concrete and cement is reduced by 30 to 50% for the same built surface compared
with the classical slabs, fact that gives an important reduced quantity of carbon emitted. In this
project, we utilize waste plastic bottles directly in place of plastic balls. Here hollow plastic bottles
are clamped in a reinforcement structure, Bubble deck slab floor system, due to its supporting
constructions such as columns and foundations leads to less weight. This can result eventually in
a total weight or material saving on the building construction of up to 50 %. Since the weight of
the structure reduced, this type of structure can useful to reduce earthquake damage.

ABSTRACT

Biogas typically refers to a gas produced by the biological breakdown of organic matter in
the absence of oxygen. Biogas originates from biogenic material and is a type of biofuel. The
gases methane, hydrogen and carbon monoxide can be combusted or oxidized with oxygen. Biogas
can be used as a low-cost fuel in any country for any heating purpose, such as cooking. It can also
be utilized in modern waste management facilities. Vegetable market waste is one of the
constituents of the solid waste that creates aesthetically bad appearance in the areas of dumping.
So this vegetable market waste should also be managed.

In order to implement the process for the production of biogas experimental study is
necessary. These experiments will give an idea of what will be the output if the plants are set up.
In this experimental study we have planned to build a biogas plant in underground of the surface
and use the food wastes from canteen and vegetable wastes. By this our ultimate motive of bringing
down the organic wastes can be succeeded and the bad odor can get controlled. By this technique
we can get the natural gas from wastes which can be used in kitchen for cooking purposes and the
outlet wastes can be used as manure for plants in the campus. This experimental study details about
the process and the structure of the plant which is well suited for utilization of food and vegetable
wastes and make it to turn as biogas.

ABSTRACT

Session management in distributed Internet services is traditionally based on username and

password, explicit logouts and mechanisms of user session expiration using classic timeouts.
Emerging biometric solutions allow substituting username and password with biometric data
during session establishment, but in such an approach still a single verification is deemed enough,
and the identity of a user is considered immutable during the entire session. Additionally, the
length of the session timeout may impact on the usability of the service and consequent client
satisfaction. This paper explores promising alternatives offered by applying biometrics in the
management of sessions. A secure protocol is defined for perpetual authentication through
continuous user verification. The protocol determines adaptive timeouts based on the quality,
frequency and type of biometric data transparently acquired from the user. The functional behavior
of the protocol is illustrated through Matlab simulations, while model-based quantitative analysis
is carried out to assess the ability of the protocol to contrast security attacks exercised by different
kinds of attackers. Finally, the current prototype for PCs and Android smartphones is discussed.

ABSTRACT

Generally, to create data for the Intrusion Detection System (IDS), it is necessary to set the real
working environment to explore all the possibilities of attacks, which is expensive. Software to
detect network intrusions protects a computer network from unauthorized users, including perhaps
insiders. The intrusion detector learning task is to build a predictive model (i.e. a classifier) capable
of distinguishing between "bad" connections, called intrusions or attacks, and "good" normal
connections. Process of training and prediction involves use of specialized algorithms. It feed the
training data to an algorithm, and the algorithm uses this training data to give predictions on a new
test data. Machine learning can be roughly separated in to three categories. There are supervised
learning, unsupervised learning and reinforcement learn Machine learning focuses on the
development of Computer Programs that can change when exposed to new data and the basics of

In e-learning recommended systems, interpersonal information between learners is very scarce,
which makes it difficult to apply collaborative filtering (CF) techniques. In this study, we propose
a hybrid filtering (HF) recommendation approach (SI-IFL) combining learner influence model
(LIM), self- organization based (SOB) recommendation strategy and sequential pattern mining
(SPM) together for recommending learning objects (LOs) to learners. The method work as
follows:(1) LIM is applied to acquire the interpersonal information by computing the influence
that a learner exerts on others. (2) a SOB recommended strategy is applied. The experiment results
demonstrate that SI-IFL can provide personalized, it shows promising efficiency and adaptability

ABSTRACT
Cloud computing is emerging as a promising paradigm for computing and is drawing the attention
from both academia and industry. The cloud-computing model shifts the computing infrastructure
to third-party service providers that manage the hardware and software resources with significant
cost reductions. It is emerging as a new computing paradigm in the medical sector besides other
business domains. Large numbers of health organizations have started shifting the electronic health
information to the cloud environment. Introducing the cloud services in the health sector not only
facilitates the exchange of electronic medical records among the hospitals and clinics, but also
enables the cloud to act as a medical record storage centre. Moreover, shifting to the cloud
environment relieves the healthcare organizations of the tedious tasks of infrastructure
management and also minimizes development and maintenance costs. Storing the medical data in
cloud makes the treatment efficient by retrieving patient’s medical history from the database before
going for the treatment and get to know about the health issues of the patient.

ABSTRACT
Tourism has become an important domain for most of the economies, especially for non-
industrialized countries where it represents the main source of income. Recommendation systems
are the techniques which predict the rating of user’s interest with item based or society-based
entity. These items can be places, books, movies, restaurants and things on which individuals have
different preferences. These preferences are analysed and processed using two approaches first
content-based filtering which involves distinctiveness of an item and second collaborative filtering
approaches which considers user's precedent activities to make choice. Point of interest
recommendation engine provides a feasible method for personalized recommendation of various
places to its users. POI systems are generally more tedious in its operation comparatively to the
already existing merchandise recommendation engines. The reason being the amount of time it
takes for the services involved. When we consider the online services, designing a prominent
approach for efficient and effective recommendation is very important. Generally, in the already
existing services for searching and recommending the services are done by the keyword-based
search which leads to the poor recommendation performance and leads to vast dependence on
complex queries from the user. This proposal has advantage of functionality and competence, and
thus possible for the realistic and good result with effective cost benefits.

ABSTRACT

Cognitive networks are programmable and dynamic nature, which help to use the
spectrum effectively. In Cognitive Radio, Spectrum sensing, spectrum allocation,
and reuse scenarios approaches with the different algorithm improves the utilization
of the spectrum. Traditional spectrum allocation technique such as fuzzy logic and
harmony search which replace the spectrum with new spectrum scheme. However,
the new technique brings more efficiency in achieving spectrum utilization. Still the
cognitive in mesh network has the problem of collision between the secondary and
primary users. To minimize the effect of collision we introduce a Gazer based
cognitive radio network which provides more freedom for frequency sharing
paradigm. Initially, all the primary and secondary nodes are scattered. The scattered
secondary nodes are grouped based on location it present it’s referred as zones. Each
zone is assigned with a gazer node. The node with maximum connectivity with other
nodes is selected as gazer node. The gazer node senses the spectrum that are
currently used in network to carry out communication. The best spectrum is chosen
by gazer node for other secondary nodes to initiate communication.

ABSTRACT

Machine learning algorithms are being developed at a fast pace. Both supervised and
unsupervised learning algorithms have been used to address various problems in wireless
communications. Different from the standard supervised learning, reinforcement learning has been
found useful to maximize the long-term system performance and to strike a balance between
exploration and exploitation. In addition, deep learning has emerged as a powerful approach to
achieving superior and robust performance directly from a vast amount of data, and therefore has
great potential in wireless communications. Different from the scope of existing surveys in this
area, we provide in this article a comprehensive overview of the development of cognitive radio
and machine learning; in particular, we elaborate on their relationships and interactions in their
roles towards achieving intelligent wireless communications. Moreover, we consider spectrum and
energy efficiency, both of which are important characteristics of intelligent wireless
communications, rather than only focusing on improving spectrum efficiency as most other
overview project on cognitive radio.

ABSTRACT

The design of reliable systems, by avoiding the high overheads of prevalent fault tolerance
techniques, is a major challenge in the deeply scaled CMOS and Post CMOS period. Because of
noise, the data can be corrupted which leads to unreliable performance. To address this test, we
use the inherent flexibility of use spaces like multimedia, recognition etc. We propose stochastic
checkers (checkers designed using stochastic logic) to perform error checking in an approximate
manner with a great reduction in overheads. Stochastic checkers are intrinsically not accurate and
need long delays for computation because of their random nature. Input Permuted Partial Replicas
are used for improving the accuracy. Progressive error checking policies are used for reducing the
latency period during detection. Progressively accurate Binary-To-Stochastic converters are
employed to reduce conversion errors at low latencies. Comparing with traditional fault detection
methods, stochastic checkers has 29.5% area and 21.5% power. Further, the data can be corrected
by SEC-DED, which is the Hamming Code so that the time can be saved during Data transmission
process.

ABSTRACT
This project proposes, an unusual switching technique is implemented using an ANFIS
approach. The proposed technique simplifies the conventional method by eliminating the
traditional logic gate design. The ANFIS pulse generator acts as a look-up table as well as a pulse
generator. Based on the modulation index as input, controlled membership functions (MFs) and
rules of the ANFIS controller opens various possibilities in producing pulses directly. The
proposed technique is evaluated on the cascaded multilevel inverter with symmetric and
asymmetric operations using sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SHE-PWM). MFs are designed
based on the pre-calculated firing conditions for different modulation index values. The hardware
verification is carried out to support the proposed switching technique.

ABSTRACT

Image based social networks are among the most popular social networking services in recent
years. With tremendous images uploaded every day, understanding users' preferences on user-
generated images and making recommendations have become an urgent need. In fact, many hybrid
models have been proposed to fuse various kinds of side information~(e.g., image visual
representation, social network) and user-item historical behavior for enhancing recommendation
performance. However, due to the unique characteristics of the user generated images in social
image platforms, the previous studies failed to capture the complex aspects that influence users'
preferences in a unified framework. Moreover, most of these hybrid models relied on predefined
weights in combining different kinds of information, which usually resulted in sub-optimal
recommendation performance. To this end, in this paper, we develop a hierarchical attention model
for social contextual image recommendation. In addition to basic latent user interest modeling in
the popular matrix factorization-based recommendation, we identify three key aspects (i.e., upload
history, social influence, and owner admiration) that affect each user's latent preferences, where
each aspect summarizes a contextual factor from the complex relationships between users and
images. After that, we design a hierarchical attention network that naturally mirrors the
hierarchical relationship (elements in each aspects level, and the aspect level) of users' latent
interests with the identified key aspects. Specifically, by taking embedding from state-of-the-art
deep learning models that are tailored for each kind of data, the hierarchical attention network
could learn to attend differently to more or less content. Finally, extensive experimental results on
real-world datasets clearly show the superiority of our proposed model.

ABSTRACT

Phishing detection is recognized as a criminal issue of Internet security. By deploying a

gateway anti-phishing in the networks, these current hardware-based approaches provide an
additional layer of defense against phishing attacks. However, such hardware devices are
expensive and inefficient in operation due to the diversity of phishing attacks. The first defense
should be strengthening the authentication mechanism in a web application. A simple username
and password-based authentication is not enough for web sites providing critical financial
transactions. In this paper we have proposed a new approach for phishing websites classification
to solve the problem of phishing. Phishing websites comprise a variety of cues within its content-
parts as well as the browser-based security indicators provided along with the website. The use of
images is explored to preserve the privacy of image captcha by decomposing the original image
captcha into two shares that are stored in separate database servers such that the original image
captcha can be revealed only when both are simultaneously available; the individual sheet images
do not reveal the identity of the original image captcha. Once the original image captcha is revealed
to the user it can be used as the password. Several solutions have been proposed to tackle phishing.

ABSTRACT
In recent years credit card became one of the essential part of the people. Due to the rise and rapid
growth of E-Commerce, use of credit cards for online purchases has dramatically increased and it
caused an explosion in the credit card fraud. Instead of carrying huge amount in hand it is easier
to keep credit card. But now a days that too becomes unsafe. One of the issues facing credit card
fraud detection systems is that a significant percentage of transactions labelled as fraudulent are in
fact legitimate. The main purpose is the survey on the various methods applied to detect the credit
card frauds. From the abnormalities in the transaction the fraudulent one is identified. The purpose
of this paper is to investigate machine learning techniques like random forest, logistic regression
for improve fraud detection in credit cards. This work primarily aims to improve current fraud
detection processes by improving the prediction of fraudulent accounts. Moreover, evaluation
employed criterions in literature are collected and discussed. Consequently, open issues for credit
card fraud detection are explained as guidelines for new researchers. This paper proposes an
intelligent credit card fraud detection model for detecting fraud from highly imbalanced and
anonymous credit card transaction datasets. The class imbalance problem is handled by finding
legal as well as fraud transaction patterns for each customer by using frequent itemset mining. A
matching algorithm is also proposed to find to which pattern (legal or fraud) the incoming
transaction of a particular customer is closer and a decision is made accordingly. In order to handle
the anonymous nature of the data, no preference is given to any of the attributes and each attribute
is considered equally for finding the patterns

ABSTRACT
Solar still desalination system offers sustainable tools for fresh water production.
Desalination technologies have been used for about a century in land-based plants and on ships to
provide the water for crew. However, this wide application is often hindered by their relatively
low production rates compared to other desalination methods. The cost of desalination methods
were started to decrease with the invention of new efficient technologies. Sunlight is one of the
several forms of power that can be used to supply heat energy required by solar still. Its main
advantage is that it has no fuel cost, but desalination system required more space and generally
more cost equipment. The solar desalination technologies allow only pure water to evaporate
leaving behind the impurities in the basin. In this project, a phase change material is incorporated
which will lead the still to increase its efficiency and productivity of still. By using this phase
change material, we can able purify water by changing into vapor and condensing it by its heat
absorbing and radiating property.

ABSTRACT

Many industrious cities face a serious air pollution problem from two wheelers that run on
two stroke engines. Since two-stroke engines burn an oil gasoline mixture, they emit more smoke
carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter than the gas run four-stroke engines found
in newer motorcycles. However, this problem can be reduced by fixing an ERG system to the two-
stroke SI engines in two wheelers. This EGR system is already been executed in CI engines but an
efficient system to control pollution in two stroke SI engines is yet to be designed. In Internal
Combustion Engine when combustion chamber temperature reaches 2500ºF or 1370ºC, nitrogen
and oxygen combine to form oxides of nitrogen (NOx). EGR works by recirculating a portion of
(10 to 15%) exhaust gas to inlet manifold. The recycled exhaust gas lowers the oxygen
concentration in the combustion chamber and increase the temperature of intake charge which
lowers the flame temperature and leads to lower NOx formation. It also slightly increases the
efficiency of the engine.

ABSTRACT

Abrasive Jet Machining (AJM) is the process of material removal from a work piece. The
application of a high speed stream of abrasive particles carried in a gas or air medium from a
nozzle .The machine will be automated to have 3 axes travel. The different components of AJM
are Compressor, Vibrator, dehumidifier, Pressure Regulator, and Dust filter, Nozzle, Pressure
gauge etc. Care has been taken to use less fabricated components rather than directly procuring
them, because, the lack of accuracy in fabricated components would lead to a diminished
performance of the machine.

ABSTRACT
Traditional method of stepper press in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) of instrumental cluster
is using servo mechanism or semi manual insertion process. This method is difficult and takes
more to complete the process. In this project, analysis and comparison of the merits and demerits
of both the servo and pneumatic system. The methodology evaluates the possibility of pneumatic
system is used to press the stepper motor in PCB which is used for instrumental cluster.
Pneumatic stepper press which work based on the “Pascal’s law”. Servo system initial
and maintenance cost is very high when compared with pneumatic and it’s difficult to use for multi
pointer cluster. Semi manual insertion process may cause to misalignment or damage of stepper
motor pins against PCB. Pneumatic system structural design is simple and it is one of the cost-
efficient and dust free process. Hence, this proposed methodology is used to make a stepper press
using pneumatic system.

ABSTRACT
INDIA is struggling with the energy and fuel crises, compounded by pollution of petroleum
products, any technologies that bring out the solutions to this problem is considered as a bounty.
In one of such new technologies, is the development of a new engine called as compressed natural
gas engine. The exact modelling of the fast-fill process of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuelled
storage bank occurring to Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) cylinders is studied and
designed the same for two wheelers. The result shows the initial pressure of storage bank has a big
effect on the storage bank volume for bringing up the NGV cylinder to its target pressure (20 MPa).
The results also showed that ambient temperature has a big effect on refuelling process, chiefly on
final NGV cylinder and storage bank conditions. The use of CNG vehicles results in less petroleum
consumption, and fewer air pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions in most applications.
Compressed natural gas storage tank suitable for gas operated vehicles can be advantageously
made of thin walled aluminium linear over winded with glass/epoxy reinforcement. These
materials combined show a perfect coating of liner and composite shell and further on the high
tensile strength of glass-fibre reinforced epoxy layers can be totally utilized. The reliability of the
proposed design method together with advantages of the chosen structural solution are to be proved
by the design and flow analysis.

ABSTRACT

The manufacturing sector has been facing several competitive challenges demanding,
simultaneously, for a continuous increasing on the productivity of all the involved resources and
for a continuous decreasing on the deliver time. The reduction of wastes and high utilization rate
of resources is also mandatory to assure a cost effective, lean and agile manufacturing system. One
of the important sources of time waste, and consequently a cost source, is the machine change-
over between different jobs. This thesis brings up the implementation of a tool within Lean
Manufacturing called SMED to a production line with the aim to increase the machine availability
through reduction of the equipment changeover. The thesis is a qualitative case study of
observation and time measurement to gather relevant data which are then analyzed for the goal of
this thesis which is to reduce the complete equipment changeover time of the assembly line. One
of the most successful methods used to reduce the setup time is the Pneumatic Quick Change Over.
There are several research work published reporting the application of Pneumatic Quick Change-
Over of Fixtures in assembly lines. In this paper the Pneumatic Quick Change Over method is
applied in a manufacturing environment where Electro-Mechanical products for the Automobile
industry are produced. The results show the feasibility of significant reductions on setup time.

ABSTRACT

Modern day machining industries are focused on tackling the obstacles faced in achieving
increased quality, while considering dimensional accuracy of the work piece, smooth surface
finish, increased production rate, reducing wear of the cutting tool. Surface roughness has a vital
role in evaluating the interaction of a real object with its environment. It has become more
complicated to mitigate the losses due to rough surfaces. MRR is a significant criteria to increase
the productivity in any firm by literally detaching the material from a part, as there is a greater
need to produce maximum number of products simultaneously minimize the costs within a limited
time. Optimization of different parameters is the needed phenomena of any manufacturer to create
parts with high quality surface finish and accuracy. It is one of the complex problems beside single
performance characteristic variation. In this project, various grinding or cutting parameters such
as type of wheel, spindle speed and depth of cut are considered for the experimentation. The
technique used for the experimentation is Taguchi approach (L18 orthogonal array), the work piece
about to be used is of AISI 52100 alloy steel, and the surface roughness will be checked using the
Mitutoya surface roughness tester. The analysis of each control factor (W, N, D) on the surface
roughness will be performed with a signal-to-noise ratio response table. The comparison plots will
be drawn and by using ANOVA, the parameters which adversely affect the performance criteria
will be identified.

ABSTRACT

In Automobile the word bumper is a structure attached to the front and rear ends of a motor
vehicle, to absorb impact in a minor collision, ideally minimizing repair costs. The conventional
bumper is rigid in nature and reduce or prevent physical damage to the front and rear of vehicles
in low-speed crashes. By implementing spring and honey comb structure increasing the usage of
bumper to reduce physical damage to the vehicles at the rear end. In this paper firstly the Truck
bumper frame of Eicher truck 11.0 is modeled in CAD software and the further analysis is done in
ANSYS by using helical springs. Modal analysis is done to study the physical characteristics of
the Bumper also to know the von misses stress in ANSYS. The natural frequency of the Rear
bumper and further Harmonic analysis is done to know maximum deformation in Rear
bumper. Appropriate use of finite element methods in sheet metal with honey comb application
have resulted in weight reduction and cost savings of automotive components. Spring system and
honey comb structure provides push back effect which prevent vehicle from getting stuck under
the truck when hits in the accident.

ABSTRACT
Technical has been tremendous growth, particularly for commercial web applications. The on-
demand, pay-as-you-go model creates a flexible and cost-effective means to access compute
resources. For these reasons, the scientific Computing community has shown increasing interest
in exploring technical. However, the underlying implementation and performance of clouds are
very Different from those at traditional supercomputing centers. It is therefore Critical to evaluate
the performance of HPC applications in today’s cloud Environments to understand the tradeoffs
inherent in migrating to the cloud. This work represents the most comprehensive evaluation to date
comparing conventional HPC platforms to Amazon EC2, using real applications representative of
the workload at a typical supercomputing centre. Overall results indicate that EC2 is six times
slower than a typical mid-range Linux Cluster, and twenty times slower than a modern HPC
system. The interconnect on the EC2 cloud platform severely limits performance and causes
significant variability.
