‭o‬ ‭Today, we will begin the online GeminAI activity.‬ ‭(FA)‬
‭This multi-day activity will have students working in‬
‭teams of around 4 students. These groups will work‬
‭together to complete tasks, make tough decisions.‬
‭Groups need to be able to work responsibly with one‬
‭another.‬
‭o‬ ‭Have students choose their group. 1 Chromebook/‬
‭computer per group. Link to the website is posted in‬
‭google classroom.‬
‭o‬ ‭These activities will have moments of stress/ pressure‬
‭on the students by having tough time limits to‬

‭Tidy up the classroom. Ask students how they felt about this‬
‭activity? Is it worthwhile doing for another few days? How did‬
‭students enjoy working in their groups?‬

‭ hank students for their work today.‬

T
‭I think this worked fairly well. Students were playing it pretty cool in the first few minutes of the‬
‭video (giggling, a few little comments about the actors, etc) but as soon as the competition‬
‭started, students became quite focused. Students chose groups relatively well and the team‬
‭captain system worked well to manage groups. These videos definitely require a fair amount of‬
‭classroom management as a few students are prone to talking instead of listening to the videos.‬
‭Several recalls to focus, stop talking, etc. I had to get pretty firm with the group which got them‬
‭focussed on the task. I think this will continue to work well for students. We did not finish the‬
‭entire day's activity and will need to wrap it up tomorrow. There were a few opportunities to talk‬
‭about how we deal with stressful situations that will need to be more impactfully iterated‬
‭tomorrow.‬
