Observations:
● A few students show decent background knowledge about some of the vocabulary words.
● Students were on task for notes.
● Students asked good questions. (Used Google Translate when there were some minor language
barriers.)
● Exit tickets were better than expected.
● Most of the student’s rated themselves very close to their demonstrated skill levels from the exit
tickets.

Observations:
● No technology issues.
● Students seemed to find both Desmos activities engaging.
● Some students worked at a different pace, which was fine for the first activity; however, the second
activity required a partner.
● I had to remind students to log into their Desmos accounts several times.
● Overall achievement in Desmos was good.
● Student feedback again was fairly accurate to their overall performance for the day.

Observations:
● Students gave their full effort on the assessment; students did not leave sections blank.
● Student performance was decent, but most of the class needed some remediation.

Observations:
● Working in a smaller setting with the students allowed more opportunities to gage their skills.
● Students seemed to ask more questions in the smaller setting.
● Re-testing went well; all but two students mastered the lesson content.

where needed.

Observations:
● Students had to create accounts in Khan Academy. (Some students took longer than others.)
● Students watched videos, but I should have provided headphones; not all students had a pair.
● No technology issues.
● Students worked at their own pace with the videos and practice.
● I was able to work more individually with students that need more support.
● The second Khan Academy video and practice was much better than the first.
● The students again gave themselves an accurate rating for their progress.

Observations:
● Many of the groups worked well together.
● Good questions and answering amongst peers.
● I was able to redirect students that were off-task (not too many).
● Class discussion went well, with many students asking questions or adding in extra characteristics.
● Debate about which characteristics were actually in each graph.
● Facilitated the assessment.
● Students gave a full effort.
● About half of the target students mastered the lesson content.

Observations:
● Small group remediation session were very successful.
● Most students making small errors or misusing some of the vocabulary.
● Used Google Translate and previous lesson notes to make connections with the graphs and the
vocabulary.
● Re-testing was mostly successful with only two students not reaching mastery of the lesson content.

Observations:
● Some students were sketching graphs that met the criteria, but were not functions. (I had to review the
Vertical Line Test so that students were not sketching graphs that have overlapping sections.)
● Good discussion about the characteristics and whether the creation were functions or not.
● Reminded students about logging into Desmos; minor issues of forgotten information.
● Desmos activity worked well being self-paced; opportunities to work with students needing more
support.
● Student feedback was very close to their true success level after the Desmos activity.

activity.

Observations:
● All students logged into Desmos successfully with no issues.
● The Desmos activity was a paired activity so students were able to ask questions using appropriate
math vocabulary. (Students used Google Translate when their were some language issues.)
● Played several rounds of the activity to ensure students used the vocabulary correctly.
● The group activity was very successful.
● Students graphed individual graphs first and contributed nicely to their overall group graphs.
● Stronger students were peer tutoring within the discussions.
● Mostly student-led discussion; I facilitated, but did a lot of observations (not too many questions
geared towards myself).
● Student feedback rating were very high.

Observations:
● Worked with the three students making connections with the graphs they were building and the math
vocabulary.
● Minor adjustments needed to have success.
● All three students received a mastery score on their re-test.
