TASK DESCRIPTION – ASSIGNMENT 1 (Individual essay 50%)

TASK 1

The UK’s government is commissioning a study to assess the economic impact of the
ongoing war in Ukraine, which has led to global energy shortages. As a consultant specialised
in business environment, your role is to compile a comprehensive report for Rishi Sunak’s
government by answering the following questions.

1. Explain the economic system implemented by the UK government, and why it is


important for the government to occasionally “interfere” in the market?
(Approximately 500 words)

2. Explain three different ways; the UK’s government has interfered in the market in a
bid to control rising inflation? (Approximately 800 words)

3. Explain how the outlined policies by the UK’s government in question two were
either successful or not? Justify you stand. (Approximately 400 words)

NOTE: Your work will need an introduction (150 words) and a conclusion (150 words).

TASKS

Your former colleague is planning to start an organic energy Drink Company in UK and has
appointed you to undertake the research into business environment of the UK’s energy drink
industry. You are expected to present a report analyzing the market structure and external
environment (both micro and macro) and provide recommendations on the area of concern
for the business. Your report should contain both the introduction and conclusion.

You are required to use relevant theories and models to properly analyse the case study.
