The Department of Education joins the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) in the

Observance of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) which
commence on November 25, 2022 to December 12, 2022. This is pursuant to
Proclamation No. 1172, s. of 2002 declaring November 25 to December 12 of every
year as the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).
The 18-Day campaign focuses on the new recurring banner – United for a VAW-free
Philippines to highlight the powerful impact of combining individual efforts towards a
collaborative and united thrust towards a VAW-free country. The 2022 campaign
likewise seeks to measure the understanding and gauge the awareness of Filipinos
about VAW and its various forms and to serve as a platform to promote their other
activities such as Orange Exhibit and VAW Documentaries.
SDO Baguio through the School Governance and Operations Division- Human
Resource Development Section spearheaded the Launching of the 18 Day Campaign to
End Violence Against Women (EVAWC) in November 21, 2022 during the Flag Raising
Ceremony.
The activity showcased the advocacy video with all heads of agencies expressing
their support to the program.

The SDO Top management likewise expressed their support highlighting on the
role of government workers as advocate of ending violence in all forms.

A culminating activity will be conducted in December 12, 2022 where some invited
guest speakers will talk on relevant topics in support to the EVAWC campaign.

In closing, the DO employees were encouraged the wearing of E-VAW advocacy


t-shirts until the end of the 18 -day campaign, also the placing of a EVAW logo as
temporary profile in respective social media accounts.
