1. With the world suffering from COVID-19 pandemic, discuss the interplay between
Science, Technology, and Society in mitigating this problem.

A coronavirus infection known as COVID-19, caused by the severe acute respiratory

syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus, has created havoc around the world. The
COVID-19 pandemic has had disastrous effects on the global economy, society, security,
and health, as well as introducing new standards for scientific and technological progress.
Since then, many nations and areas have utilized and developed science and technology in
an effort to address the "dangers" and seek out the "opportunities."
The COVID-19 pandemic has altered the way that modern society views and approaches
issues related to science, technology, and health innovation. However, In the domains of
health and biomedical sciences, we have never had such a wealth of skilled scientific and
technology knowledge infrastructures, but at the same time, a practical application of this
information to public health systems has proven to be defective and ineffective. Particular
requirements for health systems have been generated by the current circumstances. This
paradox makes us wonder how we got to this painful situation and highlights the
significance of paying closer attention to governance processes and systemic
implementation of Science and technology in our society especially in public health.
The coronavirus disease outbreak demonstrated that healthcare stakeholders have
encountered significant challenges in developing well-integrated health initiatives and
policies to address the crisis, despite the potential of science, technology, and innovation to
have a positive impact on healthcare systems globally. This is demonstrated by the rapid
development of test diagnostics and new vaccines. As a result, the epidemic has sparked a
discussion amongst academics, business, and government about potential new directions
for advancing science, technology, and public health.
In conclusion, Science and technology are essential in this period of coronavirus disease
(COVID-19) crisis for resolving not only current health issues but also boosting production
operations aiming at economic recovery after the pandemic.
