BEYOND THE GOLDEN RULE

The Pure Life Society (PLS) is pleased to announce the 13th edition of the Swami
Satyananda Memorial Lecture. His Holiness Dr Swami Satyananda was a spiritual
teacher, an educationist, a social activist and a pioneer in promoting interfaith harmony
and cooperation in Malaya (before Malaysia was formed). His legacy is carried on
through The Pure Life Society's many activities over the year.

HH Swami Satyananda was close to Malayan religious leaders and worked tirelessly to
foster peace and harmony. His interfaith activities even extended beyond Malaya, as he
formed the Malayan chapter of World Council for Interfaith Cooperation, WCIC in 1956.
Beyond spreading unity to society though conferences and groups workshops, Swami
Satyananda set up centres for education, welfare and vocational training under the Pure
Life Society. Amid his commitment to uplifit the poors and the unfortunates, he found time
to write books on history, literature, religious philosophy and psychology. His lifelong
work has snowballed beyond his passing, making the Pure Life Society a force for good
to reckon with today.

The Golden Rule: "Don't do unto others what you wouldn't want done to yourself" was the
mantra HH Swami lived his life, and built his legacy on. It is with this in mind that we have
invited prominent scholars, social activists and society leaders to share their thoughts and
insights on this year's theme - “Beyond the Golden Rule”. They will expose to us their take
on the Rule and how it was applied or built upon within their own life or community.

The keynote speakers for this online session are Dato Letchumanan Ramatha from
Bhrama Kumaris, Dr Amir Farid Bin Che Isahak (InSAF), President Richard Ho (LDS) and
Datuk Halimah Mohd Said.

Dr Amir Farid Bin Che Isahak
Dr Amir is the INSaF Chairman.
He is a Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist with an interest in Anti-Aging,
Aesthetics and Holistic Integrative Medicine. He was a health columnist for
10 years and a QiGong Master since 20, and is a regular speaker at seminars
and conferences. His current interest is in Hormone Optimization and the
Reversal of Chronic Diseases, especially diabetes.

President Richard Ho
President Richard Ho (Ho Kok Leong) is a civil engineer with interest in Traffic
Engineering, with over 25 years of experience as consultant with SMHB Sdn. Bhd.
He lived in Japan as doctoral student and missionary for the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His talk “Beyond the Golden Rule” discusses
how Christians subscribe to higher laws than the Golden Rule.

Datuk Halimah Mohd Said

Halimah Mohd Said was a school teacher and university lecturer for more than
30 years. In 1988 she started advocacy work through her writings.
She founded the citizen movement Association of Voices of Peace, Conscience
and Reason, is part of Dialog Rakyat and was recently appointed to
Team Ahli Pemikir of the Ministry of Unity.

Dato Letchumanan Ramatha

"Bro. Letchu" is the President cum National Coordinator of the Brahma Kumaris
Malaysia. He spent 37 years learning, teaching and researching Rajayoga
meditation; and manages over 50 Rajayoga meditation centres. He joined the
Malaysian government in 1983 and was lastly Director General of the Department
of Biosafety, Ministry of Natural resources and Environment Malaysia.
