What is
SEP?? A unique opportunity where students
from one school will be visiting
another IB school in a different part of
our country and spend few days with
them. They will be attending school as
well as have other cultural immersion
activities like home-visits, field trips
etc.
Why SEP? What is the purpose?

experiencing a different culture.
❏ An opportunity for students to value
and appreciate the differences and
broaden their social horizons.
❏ Helps students to develop their soft
skills like communication, confidence
and friendliness.
How does ❏ It's a collaboration between two

it w0rk? schools, wherein students participating

in this program visit each other’s school
for a specific duration.
❏ Exchange students live with a host
family or in a designated place such as a
hostel, hotel, apartment or in the school
premises itself.
❏ Participating students fund the total
expenses incurred for this event.

FS to Pathways : 29th Nov to 3rd Dec, 2023

Pathways to FS: 7th to 13th January, 2024
 Details
❏ Number of students required for this event : 20- 25 students from Grade 5. We

will prefer a balance in the ratio of girls and boys.

❏ Selection Criteria: Random selection. Chit-picking if we get more entries.

❏ Number of teacher chaperons accompanying students : 4 to 5 adults

(combination of homeroom and single subject teachers and team leaders)

❏ Travel : Students and teachers will be traveling by air (to and fro). Local

commuting within the city will be arranged by the host school.

❏ Accommodation: To be arranged by the school.

❏ Cost: Total cost to be borne by the parents of the volunteer students

which will include : Flight fare (to and fro) + Stay + Evening dinner when

we visit Pathways and all the expenses incurred when they visit our

school. Approximate cost will be between 30000 to 35000 Rs.( The cost

may change depending on the total number of students finalized for

this event)

❏ Food : Breakfast and Lunch by the host school. Dinner and snacks: Either

to be arranged on our own or by the host school/ volunteer parents

(depending on the schedule)

Expectations
from parents ❏ Try to plan some activities for
students on one of the days of their
visit.
❏ Accompany them for the field
trips/sightseeing within Surat city
along with your ward.
 Other details
● Air Ticket details & list of things to be carried for the trip will be
shared later.
● Each student can carry upto 2000 Rs with them in case they
wish to anything during the trip.
● Student ID (School ID + Aadhar card) to be carried by the
students
● Whatsapp group will be created for daily updates.
● Students will not be allowed to carry their personal device
(mobile phone/Chromebook). Towards the end of the day, they
will be allowed to make a call to their parents using the school
mobile.
