Definition of x and y axis Example of set of

solutions of The
A cartesian coordinate system that specifies each point uniquely on a plane by a function y = 2|x|
set of numerical coordinates , which are signed by distances to the point from two
fixed perpendicular oriented lines measured in the same unit of length. These lines
often are x and y axis.
Definition of solution
A solution is a value or values we put in place of a variable such as x. A func-
tion often has multiple solutions which is represented as a graph on a cartesian
coordinate system.

Solution of two or more functions

If we have two or more functions at the same time , their solution will be the inter-
section point or points of those functions. Given problem is the perfect example solution
:
example 2x
We need to prove that e (2 + x2) = 1
3
2x
Show that the identity e (2 + x2) = 1 as exactly one solution in R.
3 has only one solution. Let’s logarithm
both sides with respect to ln
2x
ln e (2 + x2) = ln 1 = 0
3

2x

2x ln e + ln(2 + x2) = 0
3

Solution of e (2 + x2) = 1
3 2x
+ ln(2 + x2) = 0
3
2 2x
ln(2 + x ) = −
3
Let f (x) = ln(2 + x2) and g(x) = − 2x
3.
Then we need the set of solutions which
satisfy both f (x) and g(x)

As we see , given functions intersect in

only one point, which means this func-
tion has only one solution
