MHA’s Requirement
 Concession Companies (CC) need to conduct annual PCA (Network Level)

Full PCA Scanning / MLP

• MLP/IRS for entire Lanes • MLP/IRS for entire Lanes
• Skid resistance test using Grip Tester (GT) • Skid resistance test using Grip Tester
• Deflection test (FWD) at 250m interval (GT)
on slow lanes.
• Coring & DCP at 2km interval

MHA’s Requirement
 CC need to conduct annual PCA (Project Level)
 Project Level PCA is required for investigatory on bad areas identified during
the annual network level analysis. CC may also consider poor area of the
network to ensure the riding quality of the expressway.
 The identified location to carry out Project Level PCA shall according to the
criteria defined below:
 Roughness for each 100m section > 3.8 m/km IRI
 Rutting for each 100m section > 20 mm
 Area of total cracking (%) for each 100m section > 20%
 Project Level PCA Work
 Conduct deflection test using Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) at 50m interval along
the identified locations.
 Carry out the Coring & Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) at 200m interval or minimum
one (1) number for each of the identified locations.
 Propose the treatment for the identified locations.
