● Goal: Lead a math PLC redelivering what I learned about implementing the newly
revised math standards.

● My Role: Deliver a presentation on how to implement the new standards, what's

different about the new standards, and any other helpful information I learned at RESA.

● Who Will Be Involved: Principal and fellow math teachers

● Timeline: I will attend the RESA meetings on February 1 and March 15. I will present it
to my department shortly after.

● Resources:

○ Agenda

○ ViewSonic Board

○ Prepared presentation

○ PLC Sign-in Sheet

○ Shared Google Drive

Future Plans:

● I plan to join ISTE once I graduate. My goal is to become an instructional coach or

technology coach. Joining ISTE would help me stay updated with the newest
educational technology.

● I also want to join other online PLNS (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). I will look for groups to
join or follow. I am already a member of several math Facebooks groups. I get many
great resources from these groups

Reflection:

● Math department PLC: Our math department PLC had met some this year to

discuss new standards, work towards our goal of implementing transitions in our

class. I added these meetings to a Google Calendar to send reminders to the

department. I have led some of these meetings, and others our principal has led.

We are a small school, most of us are the lone teacher of each class. However,

these meetings give us a chance to discuss any issues that we may have, and

get a different perspective.

● Lunch and Learns

I have attended three total lunch and learns this semester. I presented at one of

those. Our school will undergo accreditation next year, and we have been

focusing on the tools that will be used to evaluate us as teachers during this

process. The day that I presented I was showing how to use Go Guardian, a

program that our school bought to monitor students while on the internet in our

classrooms. I also showed teachers the Blooket website.

● RESA 9-12 Math: Implementing the Revised GSE-PL123027

I attended two meetings at RESA with other math teachers and district coaches.

We discussed how to prepare for the upcoming new standards in math. A lady

from the DOE came and presented to us for the first session this semester. As a

teacher at a small school, it is helpful to collaborate with other teachers outside of

my district.
Part 3:

Created PLN:

Math department shared drive to collaborate with teachers at our school and at

other schools

I created a shared drive to share resources within my department and was asked to

share it and collaborate with other small systems in our area by my principal. Within

this drive I created a folder for the new standards training. Our focus this year has been

on the roll out of the new math standards next year. I have been attending training at

RESA. After the training I add the files to the new drive that I received and/or created. I

then met with my department and redelivered. We have scheduled a date, May 18, to

meet as a department all day to prepare the first unit of each subject. After we have

created the units we will add them to the shared drive.
