The vision of Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) is Solidarity in Action. We are a

more than 30 countries around the world. Founded in 1939 as the labour
movement’s humanitarian solidarity organisation, NPA aims to improve people’s
living conditions and to create societies that are just and more democratic. NPA’s
international work covers three core areas: Mine Action and Disarmament,
Democratization and Just distribution of power and resources, and Humanitarian
Action and crisis response.
NPA is seeking a Site Supervisor for its program in Yemen.

Responsibilities.
In line with the MAD Yemen Programme strategy, the Site Supervisor, in coordination
with the Technical Field Manager (TFM), manages and implements field-based
operational activities within Southern Yemen.

Specific duties:

Under the direction of the TFM, the Site Supervisor is responsible for the daily
planning, supervision, and execution of HMA activities, including NTS,
mechanical, and manual.

Conduct operations in accordance with overall plans, Standard Operational


Procedures (SOPs) International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), and NMAS.

Provide progress reports on technical, operational (including impact-related


information), and administrative matters.

Manage multiple working sites, ensuring in-depth knowledge of all operational


activities and site history.

As required, give the TFM/ Operations Manager (OM) feedback on operational


outputs.

Conduct daily Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) on NPA
operational activities.

Ensuring all operational teams submit accurate daily reports on time as


required.

QC of daily reports, maintaining accuracy at all times.

Monitor operational activities, ensuring standards are maintained at all times.

Work with the TFM on planning or new tasks as required.

Develop implementation plans for new tasks as required.

Work with the TFM to develop risk assessments for new tasks as required.

Ensure that all NPA assets are being deployed in a practical/ efficient manner.

Utilise operational Dashboards to analyse and confirm daily operational


outputs.

Aid in the development of new methodologies as requested by senior technical


staff.
Required qualification

Must have:

IMAS Level 2 or equivalent number of years experience within Humanitarian


Mine Action

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

The ability to work in the mine action environment and adapt to the NPA global
strategies and policies by NPA values.

Desirable:

Full driving license and confidence to drive within Yemen.

Proficient in English reading and writing

Personal competencies

Good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to create a relaxed
working environment.

Motivating and encouraging subordinates to be proactive and forthcoming with


identified issues.

Strong decision-making skills.

Possess an analytical mindset when faced with challenges.

Capable of addressing or confronting safety, security, and cultural issues


without inciting confrontation.

Proficient in working independently in austere environments without requiring


assistance.
