● Both teachers weren’t values education majors (Social Science and Filipino majors)
● Both are practicing the Art of Questioning in order to deepen the discussion.

1. Pre-Assessment:
○ I usually choose from short opening questions about the topic, or a short worksheet about
the topic(value-laden table completion).

2. Activities during discussion:


○ Usually, I do sentence completion and questions to raise value recognition. When it’s
applicable, I do Value analysis in some instructional materials(film review, story
analysis).

3. After discussion:

○ I usually do short quizzes.


○ Sometimes I ask for their takeaways.
○ Self-Reflection questions
○ Collaborative/Group work to build values.

4. Way to deepen the discussion:

● Repetition, at least 2-3 times depending on the student’s level of understanding.
