Meaning of simple future tense

Simple future tense is a form of tense to show an event that has not yet
started and will only occur in the future
Meaning of simple past tense
sentences used to tell stories about events that happened in the past and
finished or ended in the past too

Sentences in the simple future tense can be marked by the use of the words
will, shall, and going to.

Simple future tense formula


 Affirmative/positif (subject + will/shall + object) or (subject + to be
<am / is /are> going to+ v1)
 Negative/negatif (subject + will/shall +not + object) or (subject + to
be <am / is /are> + not + going to+ v1)
 Interrogative/ tanya ( will/shall + subject + v1 + object ) or (to be
<am / is /are> + subject+ going to+ v1)

Shall, will, & Be going to: What's the difference?


 Will : used for all subjects ( i, you, they, he, she, it)
 Shall : used for subjects I dan WE
 Be going to : used for all subjects ( i, you, they, he, she, it). BE after
subject can be replaced with AM, IS, ARE

Simple past tense formula


 Affirmative/positif (Subject + to be (was/were) + complement) or
( subject + v2 + complement)
 Negative/negatif (Subject +to be (was/were) + not + complement) or
( subject + did + not + v1)
 Interrogative/ tanya (To be (was/were) + Subject + complement) or (
did/didn’t + subject + v1 )

 Were : You, They, We, Plural subject

Adverb of Time simple future tense:


 Tomorrow : besok
 Later : nanti
 Next week : minggu depan
 Next month : bulan depan
 Next year : tahun depan
 Soon : segera
 Tonight : malam ini
 By and by : Sebentar lagi
 The day after tomorrow : Lusa

Adverb of Time simple past tense:

 yesterday, yesterday morning/afternoon/evening


 last …Sunday/week/month/year
 a/an/one … ago (singular) or… ago
 past date/month/year atau past event

WILL

 Beni will go to Turkey next month


 Will love you just the way you are
 It will rain tomorrow.

Shall

 I shall study tomorrow


 We shan’t come to her party next week
 Shall I give you some money?

Be going to

 I am going to his birthday party next month.


 Look at those grey clouds. It’s definitely going to rain.
 The students are coming tomorrow.
