SAMARA: Hello everyone and good morning.

We would be reporting about an important

law in the Philippines, which is Republic Act 9512, also known as the National
Environmental Awareness and Education Act of 2008. Before we go on further with the
discussion i would like to introduce ourselves first, im samara vallarta and with me our my
groupmates mr. tonido, mr. david, mr. lucena and mr. rabacal. Now, let us know more about
our topic. Environmental Awareness and Education Act of 2008 serves as a wake-up call.
Even if there may be obstacles for our society, recognizing and promoting the goals of this
law could contribute to developing a more ecologically responsible and aware Philippines.
That is all, Thank you for listening!

SAMARA: So, what is the RA9512 all about? Environmental education is at the core of the National
Environmental Awareness and Education Act of 2008. It is an effective tool for bringing about
change. The act recognizes the critical need to educate the public about environmental issues and
encourage a sense of social responsibility. It seeks to promote awareness of our involvement in
maintaining and preserving the environment or going beyond meerly knowing about environmental
concerns.

KIRK: Environmental Education helps students understand how their decisions and actions affect the
environment, builds knowledge and skills necessary to address complex environmental issues, as
well as ways we can take action to keep our environment healthy and sustainable for the future.
Education must prepare learners to understand the current environmental crisis that the world is
experiencing and be inspired to shape a brighter and sustainable future. ESD gives learners of all
ages the knowledge, skills, values and agency to address interconnected global challenges including
climate change, loss of biodiversity, unsustainable use of resources, and inequality.

DAVE: Environmental education connects us to the world around us, teaching us about both natural
and built environments. Environmental education raises awareness of issues impacting the
environment upon which we all depend, as well as actions we can take to improve and sustain it.

DAVE: Whether we bring nature into the classroom, take students outside to learn, or find
impromptu teachable moments on a nature walk with our families, Environmental education has
many benefits for youth, educators, schools, and communities.

JOHN: People can actively engage in creating and enhancing policies that protect the environment by
raising awareness, participating in advocacy groups, and contacting their local representatives. By
supporting stronger policies, individuals can contribute to the betterment of the environment and
become heroes for environmental change.
JHOPIEL: Climate change continues to be a pressing global issue affecting our planet. The need for
action and awareness has never been more crucial. This Day, we explore the role of environmental
education in combating climate change and its relevance in today's world.

JHOPIEL: Environmental education plays a vital role in shaping our understanding of climate change
and its consequences. Through educational programs and initiatives, individuals gain knowledge
about the environment, develop a sense of responsibility, and learn practical solutions for a
sustainable future.

SAMARA: Thank you Mr. Rabacal Furthermore, RA 9512 hopes to develop a society that is actively
involved in sustainable practices and not only aware of environmental challenges by placing a strong
emphasis on environmental education. It takes a team to create a future where balancing human
activity with the environment is given priority. In conclusion, the National Environmental Awareness
and Education Act of 2008 serves as a wake-up call. Even if there may be obstacles for our society,
recognizing and promoting the goals of this law could contribute to developing a more ecologically
responsible and aware Philippines. That is all, Thank you for listening!
