Grazi Beanie

Materials:  
Yarn:  Approximately  200  meters  of  worsted  weight  yarn.  Sample  was  done  in  D'Primera  by  Cisne  
(coats)  in  color  253,  lime  (84  meters,  100%  acrylic),  3  skeins.  
Needles:  3,5  mm  (A)  and  4,5  mm  (B)  circular  needle  (40  cm),  1  set  of  4,5  mm  DPNs    
NoNons:  sNtch  markers,  tapestry  needle,  cable  needle  
Sizing:  Fit  average  adult  head  53-­‐60  cm  
Gauge:  20  sNtches  in  10  cm  (garter  sNtch)

The  beanie  is  kniVed  circularly  in  one  piece,  very  simple  to  do.  A  quick  and  tasty  design,  great  for  
giXing  someone.

With  needle  A,  cast  on  96  sNtches  using  long-­‐
tail  method.  You  will  work  in  the  round,  being  
careful   not   to   twist   your   work.   Place   a   sNtch  
marker   on   your   needle   to   indicate   the  
beginning-­‐of-­‐round.  

Ribbing   round:   *knit   1   tbl,   purl   1*;   repeat  

from  *to  the  end  of  the  round.  (96  sNtches)  

Repeat  the  last  round  11  Nmes  more.  

Next   round:   *knit   2,   make   1   sNtch*;   repeat  

from  *to  the  end  of  the  round.  (144  sNtches)  

Next   round:   *knit   9,   make   1   sNtch*;   repeat  

from  *to  the  end  of  the  round.  (160  sNtches)  

Now   switch   to   the   needle   B   and   follow   the  

chart.   Repeat   chart   moNf   8   Nmes   at   every  
round.   When   starNng   the   crown   decreases,  
switch  to  DPNs.    
At   the   end,   you   will   have   8   sNtches   on   the  
needles.    
Break   the   yarn,   leaving   30   cm   yarn   tail,   using   a  
tapestry  needle,  thread  through  remaining  live  
sNtches   and   pull   gently   to   close   top   of   cap.  
Weave  in  any  remaining  yarn  ends  invisibly  on  
the  WS.    
Wash  your  piece,  allowing  to  dry  in horizontal.  

1/1  RT:  Sl  1  to  cable  needle  and  hold  to  back  of  work,  k1  
tbl,  k1  from  cable  needle.  

1/1   LT:   Sl   1   to   cable   needle   and   hold   to   front   of   work,   k1,  

k1  tbl  from  cable  needle.
