Clap and Motion-Activated Light Bulb Switch
Introduction:
I propose the development of a "Clap and Motion-Activated Light Bulb Switch"
project that integrates sound and motion sensing to provide a convenient solution
for controlling room lighting. This project utilizes an Arduino UNO
microcontroller, a sound sensor module, a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor, a
1CH relay module, jumper wires, and an Arduino case to create a hands-free and
smart lighting control system.

Problem Statement:
Manual light switches can be inconvenient in certain situations, such as when your
hands are full, or when your hands are full, or when you want to control the
lighting without moving from your current location. In addition, this project has a
light bulb that incorporates motion detection so when you are not around, it turns
off and when you enter, it turns on.
This project addresses the following issues:
1. Inconvenient Lighting Control: Manually turning light switches on and off
might not be pragmatic.
2. Energy Efficiency: Often, lights are left on when they’re not used. This
leads to energy wastage.
3. Accessibility: People with mobility challenges might find it difficult to
reach and operate traditional switches.

Problem Description:
1. Inconvenient Lighting Control: Manual light switches may not be easily
accessible, especially in larger rooms or when a person is physically distant
from the switch.
2. Energy Efficiency: Inefficient use of lighting can result in higher energy
consumption and electricity bills.
3. Accessibility: Traditional light switches may not be suitable for all
individuals, particularly those with physical disabilities.
Components and Roles
1. Arduino UNO: The Arduino UNO acts as the central controller, processing
input from the sound sensor module and PIR motion sensor and controlling
the relay module to switch the light on or off.
2. Sound Sensor Module: The sound sensor module detects clap patterns and
sends signals to the Arduino UNO when a predefined pattern is detected.
3. PIR Motion Sensor: The PIR motion sensor detects human movement and
sends signals to the Arduino UNO when motion is detected.
4. 1CH Relay Module: The 1CH relay module controls the power to the light
bulb, serving as the switch to turn the light on or off based on input from the
Arduino UNO.
5. Jumper Wires: Jumper wires are used for making connections between the
Arduino UNO, sound sensor module, PIR motion sensor, and relay module.

Problem Solution:
I propose the development of a system that combines sound and motion sensing to
control room lighting. The project will offer the following features:
1. Sound and Motion Sensing: A sound sensor module will detect clap
patterns, and a PIR motion sensor will detect human movement.
2. Automatic Lighting Control: When the system detects a clap or motion, it
will use the Arduino UNO and the 1CH relay module to turn the connected
light bulb on. The system will turn the light off when no motion is detected
after a specified time.

Conclusion
The "Clap and Motion-Activated Light Bulb Switch" project offers a
comprehensive and innovative solution for lighting control, addressing
inconveniences associated with traditional switches and lack of customization.
