CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

A. BACKGROUND AND HISTORY.

At this time there were many and various businesses that were developing.
The world of fashion now both abroad and domestically is very influential for the
community, including the fashion for glasses and soft lenses. Therefore, today many
optical shops have sprung up with skilled and competent workforce. That's what
prompted me to start an optical business. Because in my opinion, there are quite a few
optical shops that sell their products at affordable locations in the area that I choose,
therefore I see a bright opportunity for this optical business.

B. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Blossom optical is an optical shop located in the Tanggerang area. Blossom Optical
serves, offers and sells various kinds of vision aids needs such as glasses and soft lenses, or
various other accessories such as lens cleaners and water contact lenses , with the following
vision and mission :

• Vision = creating a business that is easily accepted by the community

and the people.
• Mission = To provide the best products and best services.

CHAPTER 2

DISCUSSION

A. PLANNED VENTURE.
Blossom Optical will sell a wide range of glasses and softlens products made
of the best quality and materials with a variety of models, colors and sizes that can be
tailored to your needs. Blossom Optical also sells other accessories such as eyeglass
chains, glasses cleaner or water contact lenses, but it is sold at a price that is quite
affordable for all people.

B. MARKET RESEARCH.
In the Tanggerang area, eyewear stores that sell products at affordable prices
for all are still rare, because most of the existing eyewear stores are big and well-
known shops so that the middle to lower class cannot buy glasses at high prices.
Therefore, the target market of this business is people in all circles, especially the
lower middle class and for all ages who use glasses just for style or for the needs of
people who already need vision aids, namely glasses, both for people who are just
about to use them. or for those who have been using it for a long time.

C. START-UP PLAN.
This shop is planning to have a grand opening on Sundays, because during
holidays like this it is expected that more visitors will come than on weekdays. The
plan is that Blossom Optical will be open every day, except for certain holidays, for
example during Eid al-Fitr, the shop will close, because during such holidays it is
likely that employees will ask for leave to spend time with their respective families.
Blossom Optical will be established in the Tanggerang area, because this area is a
fairly densely populated area, but optical shops that sell products at affordable prices
for all people but the best quality are still rare, so there is a great opportunity to set up
a Blossom Optical shop in this area.

2
D. MANAGEMENT TEAM.
Blossom Optical will employ 2 employees (who serve buyers and become
cashiers at the same time). If there are buyers, one of them will immediately cut the
lens to the size needed. For all employees if they work very well or they can sell
products according to the given target, then they will get a bonus in the form of
money for lunch or something.

E. OPERATIONAL PLAN.
Blossom optical will be open daily. For Monday-Friday it is open from 9 am -
9 pm, and for Saturday - Sunday it will be open from 9 am - 9:30 pm. It will be closed
on certain holidays, for example Eid and others. Blossom Optical only sells its
products in shops, does not offer them to offices or residents' homes. Blossom optical
buys all products which will then be resold from various trusted agents with the best
quality products but still affordable prices.
Blossom Optical has its own eye-checking machine and lens cutter, so that the
lenses you order can be made directly, except for lenses of certain sizes which have to
be ordered directly from the center. Blossom Optical also provides a little waiting area
so that buyers feel comfortable when they are at Blossom Optical and can be used as a
place for customers to wait for lenses that are being cut or just cleaned.

F. MARKETING PLAN.
Blossom Optical's marketing plan is that Blossom Optical will create
advertisements by maximizing the use of social media to market products such as on
Instagram, Twitter, or on the personal web. Blossom Optical also provides
information about products through brochures distributed to road users, information
on banners in front of shops, or chain information (word of mouth) through personal
contacts such as the Whatsapp or line application.

H. SWOT ANALYSIS.

a. STRENGHTS.
- Products are available with a wide selection of models and colors to choose
from as you wish.
- Spacious and comfortable place.
- The location of the shop is strategic, and easy to visit.
- The best service so that all consumers feel comfortable.

b. WEAKNESS.
- In the process of cutting the lens, sometimes it takes 1 to 3 days, so the buyer
has to come back to get the glasses.

5
- The results of eye examinations, sometimes inaccurate due to consumers who
are less communicative when examined, for example in the elderly (hearing
loss) and young children (still difficult to talk to).
- The vehicle parking area is not large enough.

c. OPPORTUNITIES.
- Selling glasses of the highest quality but relatively cheap prices, compared to
glasses that are sold in malls or other well-known shops.
- Few of competitors selling products at lower prices.

d. THREATS.
- Many competitors.
- There are competitors who are already superior in marketing their products
(already branded).
- There are competitors whose products are considered better, because they
have sold their products in big places such as malls and others.
