CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1.1. Background of street vendors

The implementation of Field Work Practice (PKL) activities as a
manifestation of the wisdom of cooperation in the implementation process is
carried out in two places, namely in schools and in the business / industrial /
institutional world. The above efforts are carried out in improving
Vocational High Schools (SMK) in the Field of Accounting Expertise to
achieve the goal of educational relevance to the guidance of work needs. In
addition, what is expected from the implementation of practices in the World
Business / Industry / Institution, namely students will have a work ethic,
such as work ability, work motivation, initiative, creativity, quality work
results, time discipline and craft at work.
In the implementation of this Field Work Practice (PKL), it is expected
that every student is able to participate in work activities and understand
work activities carried out in the business world or the industrial world so
that these students can achieve and get a good and useful learning for
themselves and so that these students are able to show their performance
optimally so that they can make themselves calculated in the business world
or the industrial world.

The implementation of PKL is a proving ground as well as strengthening

for students, especially vocational students to enter the industrial world or
the world of work. The theoretical learning process carried out in schools
can be applied directly at the time of PKL itself. From street vendors, there
is also a lot of knowledge that can be taken that we have not obtained in
school.

For students to further unleash their potential which is expected to be

applied in the industrial world is one of the objectives of holding street
vendors. Not only that, students who may have poor character in their

1
school environment, when they are in a different world, meaning the
industrial world, can change for the better than before.

The implementation of PKL, which only lasts for 3 months, actually has
a specific purpose, which is to provide new experiences about the real world
of work as an effort to establish themselves before entering the world of
work, and grow and develop and strengthen professional attitudes in
accordance with what is required by the world
The business/industry/institution. Field Work Practice (PKL) is also part of
the SMK curriculum which must be implemented by students of SMK Pelita
Ciampea 1. PKL activities must be followed by class XI students of SMK
Pelita Ciampea 1 as one of the graduation requirements.

1.2. Purpose of street vendors
