FOREWORD

Praise and gratitude for the presence of Allah SWT, the Almighty and His
mercy and guidance, so that the author can complete the preparation of the report
in accordance with the time limit determined by the school. From the results of
the Field Work Practice (PKL) at the Department of Population and Civil
Registration of Tanah Laut Regency, for approximately 4 months from March 21
to July 18, 2022, the author would like to thank those who have guided during
street vendors so that the authors get a lot of useful knowledge. beneficial. With a
number of experiences and knowledge that the authors get which is the basic
foundation in compiling this report.
As the author of this report, the author expects suggestions and criticisms to

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background
The determining factor in achieving success in the era of competition in
the world of work is superior Human Resources (HR). In an effort to improve
Human Resources, the Ministry of National Education (DEPDIKNAS) has
issued a policy on professional placement activities
professional placement or in Indonesian language know Praktik Kerja
Lapangan (PKL) are educational, training and learning activities carried out in
the Business World or the Industrial World. In an effort to approach or to
improve the quality of Vocational High School (SMK) students with
competencies in accordance with their fields.
Field Work Practice activities are one form of activity from the many
visions and missions of SMK Negeri 1 Pelaihari in preparing its students to
enter the Business World and the Industrial World later. The business world
and the industrial world certainly cannot be obtained easily. Therefore, students
are not only equipped with learning theory but also an understanding of the
working world environment.
As a writer as a student of SMK Negeri 1 Pelaihari majoring in Office
Automation and Governance, the Department of Population and Civil Registration
of Tanah Laut Regency has the opportunity to gain experience in the world of
work, develop self-confidence, and train, support, skills that have been learned in
school to be applied in the work environment. , so that writers and students are
ready to work in the business and industrial world after graduating from school.
1.2 The purpose of writing

IMPLEMENTATION

2.1 Place and date


a. Date
The time for the implementation of the Field Work Practice is from
March 24 to July 18, 2022, which is carried out at the Office of the
Population and Civil Registration Office of Tanah Laut Regency, as
follows:

Laut Regency, morning apples are always held at 08.00 WITA. While the
month of Ramadan morning apples are not held.

The Department of Population and Civil Registration of Tanah Laut


Regency is an institution organized by the government whose job is to record,
register, and record as completely as possible every important event for a
person's civil status, for example marriage, birth, child
recognition/legitimacy, divorce and death.
The function of the Population and Civil Registration Service is to
assist in carrying out the supporting functions of Population administration
which are the authority of the Region and the assistance tasks given by the
Regency in the field of population administration.
The old office of the Tanah Laut Regency Population and Civil
Registration Office is located on Jl. Datu Daim II No. 4, Pelaihari, Tanah
Laut Regency. However, due to the displacement, now the Department of
Population and Civil Registration of Tanah Laut Regency is located on Jl. A.
Syairani, Gagas Pelaihari Office Complex.
At the Department of Population and Civil Registration of Tanah Laut
Regency, the writer is placed in a different room every month. In

March-May they are placed in the Dapduk room. The Dapduk sector
has an important role in the Department of Population and Civil
Registration of Tanah Laut Regency, among others, namely carrying
out registration and recording, checking recording files, managing
data and issuing Birth Certificates, Death Certificates, Marriage
Certificates, Divorce Certificates, and Child Recognition Deeds.

While in June-July the author was placed in the secretariat room which also
has an important role in the Department of Population and Civil Registration
of Tanah Laut Regency, namely, Preparing work programs, Managing in
personnel affairs, general administrative services, Administration, Archives
and documentation in order to support the smooth implementation
assignments, as well as numbering letters and also scheduling incoming and
outgoing letters.

2.2 The result
The results achieved during carrying out the Field Work Practice at the
Department of Population and Civil Registration of Tanah Laut Regency are as
follows:
1. Can understand, and apply lessons learned at school, for example how to
archive letters.
2. Can know and add insight on how to make a resident application letter.
3. Increase the author's knowledge of administration in correspondence to a
related government agency.
4. Increase the author's knowledge of work activities in the secretariat.
5. Increase the author's knowledge of the administration of population documents.
6. Know how to print a child's identity card.
7. Know how to legalize and stamp birth certificates and family cards.
8. Gaining broader insight into the world of work and industry.
9. Knowing the importance of discipline and responsibility in carrying out various
tasks in the world of work and industry.
10. Can find alternative solutions to problems that arise in the world of work.
2.3 The Problem
An error occurred on the printer machine so that it hampered the work.
for example, when printing a letter of application for relocation at the office.
2.4 The benefits
During the implementation of the Field Work Practice at the Department
of Population and Civil Registration of Tanah Laut Regency, the author got
many things that were very useful as students, for schools and for offices,
including:
a. For students
1. Sharpen the skills that were previously given at school. By participating in the
Professional Placement activities, it is hoped that the skills of the students can be
further honed.
2. Increase knowledge and work experience that is useful for students when they
enter the world of work.

3. Gain experience in the world of work in order to adapt later in the world of
work.
4. Establish a good work ethic so that in the future students become qualified
graduates.
5. Train independence, discipline, and creativity at work.
6. Shaping the mindset of students so that they are constructive and share
experiences in the business world and the world of work industry.
7. Adding insight and knowledge that has never been obtained in school.
8. Improving the efficiency of time and energy in educating and training quality
students.
9. Increase the creativity of students to develop their talents and interests.
b. For School
1. Providing benefits to the school itself because skills that are not taught in
schools are obtained in the business world and the industrial world.
2. As a form of acknowledgment of appreciation that the Field Work Practice
experience is part of the educational process.
3. Can adjust educational programs according to employment needs to
evaluation materials for the education curriculum.
4. The name of the school and improve the image of the school.
5. Improving the quality of vocational school students so that they can produce
graduates who are able to work in accordance with their fields in entering the
world of work.
6. Creating quality SMK graduates.
7. Creating good cooperation between schools and related offices or
companies, both in the business world and the industrial world.
c. For Company
1. Helping jobs that require more manpower, so that the work is
completed quickly.
2. Improve the image of the company or office
3. Help become a source of information or new ideas needed by the
office or company.

CLOSING

3.1 Conclusion
Professional Placementis an activity that is very beneficial for students.
With this Practice, students are required to have an independent attitude and be
able to interact with other people so that they are expected to have high skills
and insight.
In the Business World and the Industrial World, good discipline is needed.
Agencies usually require employees who are disciplined, diligent, intelligent,
and responsible.
After doing the Professional Placement at the Department of Population
and Civil Registration of Tanah Laut district, for approximately 4 months the
author has received many benefits, be it experience, knowledge, and everything
related to the world of work. So that the author can know more about the world
of work so far, because with Field Work Practices
can find out how far the writer's ability can be in school. So that one day if
you enter the world of work, you will not hesitate to do it, because you already
have good experience. In addition, the author can find out the tasks carried out
by each employee or employee according to their field of work.
So Professional Placement is very important for students to
develop attitudes, professional abilities in their fields of expertise, and be
persistent in being competent and adapting to the work environment one day.
3.2 Suggestion
The suggestions that the authors convey are as follows:
a. For Students
1. For students who carry out the Field Work Practice, they are expected to be
able to carry out any given task with full responsibility and comply with
the regulations set by the office where the Professional Placement is held.
2. Students are expected to establish good relations with employees at the
Professional Placement to be able to obtain information and knowledge
related to the field of work being carried out.

3. Students must prepare themselves by mastering the lessons that will be
applied in the business world and the industrial world, in order to make it
easier to carry out Professional Placement.
4. Students can maintain the good name of the school where the company or
office is held Professional Placement.
5. Take an active role in every activity carried out and don't be shy to ask the
existing staff if they experience difficulties or something that is not known
when carrying out the Professional Placement
6. Cooperate well with all existing staff, in order to create a comfortable
working atmosphere.
7. During Professional Placement Practices, they should carry out work with
discipline and on time to achieve optimal results.
8. Mutual respect and appreciation such as maintaining the relationship
between superiors and subordinates, Maintaining relations between fellow
employees and others.
9. The participants of the Professional Placement pay more attention to the
procedures and work schedules provided in accordance with the applicable
provisions.
b. For school
1. The placement of participants should be adjusted to their respective
vocational programs.
2. Maintain good relations with companies, offices or government agencies in
order to make it easier for students to get a place for Professional
Placement .
3. To supervising teachers or teachers to provide more motivation, as well as
guidance to students who are carrying out Professional Placement.
4. It is hoped that the school supervisors of participants can better monitor
students who are carrying out Professional Placement so that if there are
obstacles or difficulties they can be resolved together.
5. With the Professional Placement, it is hoped that a good cooperative
relationship between the SMK Negeri 1 Pelaihari school and the

c. For offices
1. The Department of Population and Civil Registration expects its willingness to
accept students in the coming year, especially students of SMK Negeri 1 Pelaihari
and schools in general who need practical guidance.
2. Giving confidence in giving assignments in the sense of believing that students
who carry out Field Work Practices are able to do the assigned tasks.
3. Office agencies are expected to provide more guidance to students in order to
carry out their duties properly in carrying out Field Work Practices.
4. Placing students who carry out Field Work Practices as colleagues so that
students are encouraged to improve work professionalism.
