Pre-Manufacturing:

 Review of Requirements: Ensure compliance with product standards and capability to meet
prescribed requirements.
 Technical Review: Assess material specifications, welded joint properties, quality criteria for
welds, joint locations, accessibility, sequence of welds, and other welding requirements.
 Sub-contracting: Review and assess suitability of sub-contractors used in the fabrication
process.
 Welding Personnel: Validate qualifications of welders and welding operators involved in the
process.
 Equipment Suitability: Verify the suitability of welding equipment, auxiliaries, handling
procedures, and maintenance of equipment, including the identification of Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) and its use.
 Production Planning: Ensure adherence to welding procedures, sequence of welds,
environmental conditions, allocation of qualified personnel, and equipment for preheating/post-
heat treatment.
 Qualification of Welding Procedures: Review the methods and range of qualification for
welding procedures.
 Welding Procedure Specifications: Assess the range of qualification criteria for welding
procedure specifications.
 Work Instructions: Implement work instructions where necessary to ensure adherence to
specifications.
 Welding Consumables: Check compatibility, review delivery conditions, storage, handling, and
any supplementary requirements related to welding consumables.
 Materials: Review supplementary requirements, inspection documentation, storage, handling,
and traceability of materials used.

During and Post Procedure:

 Inspection and Testing: Conduct inspections and tests before, during, and after welding to
ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
 Post-weld Heat Treatments: Assess and ensure the implementation of post-weld heat
treatments, if necessary.
 Non-conformance and Corrective Actions: Address any identified non-conformance issues and
implement corrective actions as required.
 Calibration and Validation: Ensure calibration and validation of measuring, inspection, and
testing equipment used in the welding process.
 Identification and Traceability: Maintain proper identification and traceability of components
and materials used.
 Quality Records: Prepare, maintain, and store quality records related to welding procedures and
inspections.
 Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety,
and environmental regulations and rules throughout the fabrication process.
