CHANGE HAND OVER BETWEEN THE SHIFTS
1. Purpose
This procedure defines the requirements of the instruction to be given by current shift
officer shift to the next shift officer for charge hand over.

2. Scope

This procedure is applicable to all production facilities in Pharmacure PLC which


operates in shifts

3. Validity

This SOP is valid only until next revision date and if it bears control seal.

4. Responsibility

It will be the responsibility of the shift leaders to follow the procedure. Quality assurance
manager is responsible for SOP compliance.

6. Procedure

6.1. From Current Shift To Next Shift

Following are the instruction to be given by current shift officer shift to the next shift officer
for charge hand over.

a. Name of product /lot/work men in each machine.


b. Status of each machine i.e. whether under changeover or under maintenance
or functioning.
c. Allocation of job to next shift worker.
d. Production planning for next shift.
e. Any special precautions to be taken if there is any problem.
f. If any change in plan, then reason for that change. Any anticipated problem
and remedy if any,
g. Showing the actual physical status.
h. Recording of above things in shift logbook.
6.2. From 2nd Shift to 1st Shift (general shift)

Second shift officer has to write jobs done in this shift on shift logbook along with the
instructions for 1st shift.
a. Description of the job completed in the second shift.
b. Reason for not completing the job given to 2nd shift, if there is any.
c. Precautions to be taken by the first shift officer (or general shift) before
stating the production. i.e. Completion of maintenance and cleaning jobs.
d. Any special instructions concerned with machine, product, manpower etc.
e. Details of any problem that occurs in shift should be written in the shift
logbook.
f. First shift officer should refer these instructions before starting the work.
