Setup Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) – with Microsoft Authenticator

This process will require

one PC/Laptop
one Mobile

Step 1: Install “Microsoft Authenticator” for your mobile:

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.azure.authenticator&hl=en

Requirement: Grant permission for the Microsoft Authenticatior to access:

Camera: to scan QR code


Notication: to approve login request

Step 2: In PC/Laptop Login https://office.com with FSoft account in web Browser:

(log in with Anonymous mode in web browser, “Ctrl + Shift + N”: in Google Chrome,

“Ctrl + Shift + P”: in Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox)

Step 3: After login successful, you need to configure security for your account then Click Next in “More information required” box
Step 4: Choose Next in "Start by getting the app"

Step 5: click Next in "Setup your account"


Step 6: On your mobile, open “Microsoft Authenticator” app and tap “+” icon:

Chose “Work or school account”:

Choose Scan QR code, Then Scan to the QR in Computer


After that OTP is added successful, you will see your account on mobile app:

Step 7: Back to PC, click Next in "Scan the QR code section"


Step 8: Mobile will pop up a notification to allow sign-in, then tap in Approve

Step 6: PC will display Notification approved then click Next:

Step 7: When verification is Successthen clock Done


Step 8: After set up MFA finished, you have to re-authen on Office 365 service like Outlook, OneDrive, Teams with MFA (password + verification code)

With Mobile email client (iOS, Android...), you can to use app password (Step 5) to re-authen.

Or you use Microsoft Outlook 2016 to authen with MFA.
