1.0 Executive Summary

This is the proposal for “Silver Lining” summer 2023 Fashion Show that will be held on 08th
June 2023 from 3.00 p.m. until 4.30 p.m. at Slate at The Row KL event space in Kuala Lumpur.
This event will be held to celebrate the world brain cancer with the brain cancer sufferers. The
main inspiration for this fashion show is the grey ribbon that symbolic for brain cancer
awareness.

2.0 Introduction of the event

This fashion show programme is dedicated for brain cancer sufferers. The inspiration for this
event is grey ribbon. Most of us already acknowledge that every type of cancer has their own
awareness ribbons and specific colours for the ribbons. As for the brain cancer, the category is
under the neutral colour which is grey. Cancer ribbons are usually used to raise awareness about
specific cancer and for those who wearing this ribbon are intended to show supports for those
who are suffering from cancers.

The reason why I choose the “silver lining” theme for this fashion show is because silver
lining means a positive outcome or aspect of a bad situation as in an easier way to understand
it is that every bad situation holds the possibility of something goods. Since the silver and grey
is in the same colour category, it seems to relate to the main inspiration which is grey ribbon
with brain cancer sufferers.

This fashion show programme aims to celebrate the brain cancer sufferers as the event will
be held on 08th of June 2023 also known as World Brain Cancer Day. It is also to show some
positive spirit for them as we appreciate their struggles to fight against the diseases and to show
them that brain cancer is one of the diseases that brings inspirations to all the people to create
a masterpiece while doing research about this brain cancer. Lastly, to ensure a hope for them
to always be confident and take a positive side of their illnesses.

3.0 Aim and Objectives

The aim and objective of this event is to celebrate the brain cancer sufferers also the world
brain cancer day. This programme is one of the ways to celebrate their special day especially
for women who are into fashion to show them that fashion has no limit also to make all the
audience open their eyes and minds to the brain cancer disease. The creative director of the
company decides to create something new in fashion industry along with appreciating the brain
cancer sufferers. Also, with this programme the donation will be collected, and it will be given
to the Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur for the brain cancer sufferer’s treatments.

4.0 Concept overview and theme

For this fashion show, the concept is based on the grey ribbon. Most of the collections have
a grey ribbons element. Most of the collection is Avant- Garde which is most of the collection
is based on the dress and ball gown silhouettes since the designer decided to make research
about the brain cancer and her late friend were also a sufferer that passed away because of the
brain cancer it is easier for her to express the idea with the silhouettes that has been chosen.
The designs of the collection most likely have a grey ribbon attached to it and draping technique
with a different shade of grey colour on the fabric. It symbolizes the struggles and painful
symptoms that suffers all the brain cancer sufferer. The show scenography will be relying on a
long grey fabric that were hanging on around the ceilings of the venue and some draping
decoration on the wall.

5.0 Event Organizer

Event organizer for this fashion show is N.I.A clothing brand. N.I.A brand is a small clothing
brand that produce a ready to wear collections for daily wear also for special occasions. The
event coordinator for N.I.A clothing brand is Nur Iman Awadah. We also hire a 15 students’
team to help us with the backstage preparation and stage handling from UNITAR International
University for the fashion show event.

7.0 Venue

The event will be held at Slate at The Row KL event space. The event space was based at 44,
Jalan Doraisamy, Chow Kit, 50300 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur. Slate
at the Row was designed from 1940s which is it was a pre-war shop houses that readapted into
a new and vibrant space. The event space was still maintaining the rustic structures but, they
manage to change some part of the building to make it look fresh and modern. This event space
is usually chosen by many big brands in hosting a corporate event from annual dinner to media
events as well as private events. This place was chosen because it have a lot of amenities and
the size is quite big.

8.0 Event Breakdown

This Fashion Show will be held at Slate at The Row KL event space that were placed in Kuala
Lumpur. The event will be started at 3.00 p.m. until 4.30 p.m.

The tentative of the fashion show on 08th June 2023 will be: -

3.00 p.m. - 3.30 p.m.: Opening introduction and speech from Chief Executive Officer

3.30 p.m. - 4.00 p.m.: Runway Fashion Show

4.00 p.m. – 4.30 p.m.: Teatime and disperse

9.0 Audience

The main audience that will be invited to this fashion show will be the brain cancer sufferers
and survivors from the Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur since this fashion show aims to celebrate
the world brain cancer day with them. Next, is the medical staff that were responsible in
handling the brain cancer patient. Lastly, the VIP audience from fashion industry such as
fashion designer, creative director from local fashion brand and fashion and beauty influencers.

10.0 Catering- Food and beverages

The caterer for this fashion show is from Great Value Catering Services. The Great Value
Catering Services is one of the top choices for affordable Kuala Lumpur and Selangor catering
services. They centrally located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and excellent in delivering
delectable cuisine, top-tier customer service and outstanding value for money. They offer a

over 15 years of experience. Since the fashion show will be starting on the evening, the menu
that has been chosen is finger food that are great for teatime and the audience to enjoy.
