1.8 Duration/ Sequence

 Anti-termite termite treatment before PCC laying.
 Construction of the foundations as per the drawing and Specifications.
 Mark the area of the structure and around the periphery for anti – termite treatment
 Preparation of correct dosage of anti-termite agent as per the vendor specification.
 Treatment before PCC: - The bottom surface and the sides of the excavation made) shall be
treated with the chemical at the rate of 5 l/m2 surface(Mentioned as D in the fig 1.)
 Treatment around columns/footings: - The chemical shall be poured up to the depth of
500mm by injecting the holes around columns/sides of footings.
 Treatment for Plinth area of the building: - The spraying treatment shall be given horizontally
before laying grade slab on filled /compacted soil surface.
 Treatment for external periphery: - rodding 300mm depth in the marked area at 150mm
intervals along the peripheral building area.
 Application of anti-termite agent along the column/footing/plinth (Mentioned as A, B in the
fig 1.) in the structure and along the building periphery. (Mentioned as C in the fig 1.)

1.9 Procedure

A. PRECAUTIONS BEFORE START OF WORK:

Prior to Anti termite application work, following shall be ensured:

 Ensure all required work permits are obtained.

 Ensure the area is cleared for anti-termite application work.
 Ensure all the materials required for the work is available
 Ensure all predecessor activities are approved.

B. GENERAL, STORAGE AND HANDLING PROCEDURES:

 Chemical materials shall be stacked at dedicated location and shall be shifted

manually/ cranes (mobile/tower), as applicable.
 These chemicals are brought to the site in the form of emulsifiable
concentrate/suspension concentrate.
 The container should be clearly labelled and should be stored carefully. They
should be kept securely closed.
 Care shall be taken while shifting chemical material to avoid any damages to
materials and other.

C. SEQUENCES:
 Chemical recommend by IS. 6313 part II 2013 (latest and revised) for projects:
Protection of
reference points Imidacloprid 30.5% SC
 Brand: ImidaGold Plus 30.5% SC
 Dose: 2.1 ml chemical per 1 liter of water
 After the completion of the structure and backfilling work up to plinth level, the
area that needed to be treated with anti-termite agent shall be marked with
the help of line threads.
 The treatment consists of
1) Treatment before PCC
2) Treatment around columns/footings
3) Treatment for Plinth area of the building
4) Treatment for external periphery
 Treatment before PCC, the bottom surface of the excavation made (Pit for
PCC) shall be treated with the anti-termite agent at the rate of 5 l/m2 surface. If
water is used for ramming the earth or if the moisture content of the soil is high
the chemical treatment shall be carried out after rodding the earth at 150 mm
centers apart parallel to the wall surface and spraying the chemical emulsion
at the above dosage. After the treatment, the soil should be tamped in place.
 Treatment around columns/footings, after completion of backfilling around the
columns up to the ground level, the chemical shall be poured up to the depth
of 500mm by injecting the holes around columns and entire backfilled area
around columns shall be treated @ 7.5L per Sq. m. of vertical surface.
 Treatment for Plinth area of the building, treatment for finish floor filled surface to
create a continuous and undisturbed chemical barrier at entire filled soil within
the Plinth walls i.e. plinth filling, the spraying treatment shall be given horizontally

before the grade slab on filled /compacted soil surface. After the compaction
and watering is completed the entire plinth surface before soling/ PCC shall be
treated with chemical @ 5 liter per Sq. m.
 Treatment for external periphery, After the building is complete, the earth along
the external perimeter of the building should be rodded at intervals of 150mm
and to a depth of 300mm and treat the chemical at the rate of 7.5 lt. Per Sq. m.
of vertical surface.
