1. Purpose

➢ The main purpose of this method statement is to explain the procedure of swimming
pool construction.

2. Specification References

7. Methodology

➢ 7.1 Setting Out

• The detailed drawings will be used for setting out work.

• Line Setting out for form work.
• MEP clearance shall be taken before erection of form work.
• Erection of formwork shall be done in several stages accordingly.
• The Levels and line will be checked by supervisors before Erection of Formwork.
• On field inspections and approvals sign off by team confirming consulting Engineer
and Contractor representative

➢ 7.2 Preparation for Formwork

• Initially all the panels prepared at formwork fabrication yard and then directly install
and combine at the construction site.
• Wall formwork prepare by panels as shown in Figure 1 & 2
• Mould oil will be applied on the 15mm plywood board to improve the removal of
formwork.

➢ 7.3 Erection of Formwork

• Before erection area shall be cleaned to remove all debris, dust, rust, etc.
• A cleaning pocket shall be arranged at the bottom of wall for work to facilitate final
cleaning.

• Erect the formwork by providing sufficient props and struts including necessary bracing as
per above figures. Seal gaps in formwork by using tapes & 2 to 3mm sponge strip to avoid
leakage of grout.

• In wall form work, Threaded tie rod with cone arrangement shall be used. Furthermore, the
tie rod shall be equipped with a water stopper (casting nut & washers).

• Alignment & verticality of formwork shall be checked. Each structural element’s

Allowable dimensional Tolerance must be following the structural specification.

➢ 7.4 Pouring Concrete

• Grade 30 ready mix concrete shall be used for swimming pool walls.
• Pouring of concrete shall be done using pump car or tower crane.
• Concrete pouring shall be done in four stages. Pouring sequence & construction joint of
wall as shown in figure 3.
• Vertical wall shall be cast up to required level without any further horizontal construction
joint.
• Vertical MS water bar shall be placed in construction joint.
• Approved bonding agent shall be applied at the construction joint before concrete the new
part.
• All concrete work shall be done as per approved method statement of concrete.

➢ 7.5 Removal of Formwork

• Support removal will be carried out in such a way that no any damage occurred to a
concrete structure.
• Removal of form work shall be done after 7 days

• All the removed supporting materials will be stacked properly and all the debris should be
cleaned after removal of supports.

• Once the panels removed all the “P Cone” holes will be patched by approved non-
shrink grout as per the specification

➢ 7.6 Curing

• Curing should be done for 7 days.

• After 24hours of laying of concrete, the surface shall be cured by spray water.

8.Inspections and Approvals

➢ On field site inspections and approvals sign off by team confirming
consulting Engineer and Contractor representative.

9.Health and Safety

➢ In accordance with the BML Health and safety guidelines.
