ENGLISH FINAL EXAM – LEVEL 2 - SPEAKING TEST

The following speaking test consists of two tasks in which two students
participate. The students will be asked to answer questions and interact in
conversation with each other. (Traveller Beginners (Units 5-8))
Requires preparation by the candidate: No

Task 1: Introduction (1 - 4 min)

1. The examiner invites each of the students in turn to talk about him / herself.
(full name, spelling of it; age; nationality; country; job, etc.)

Task 2: Interview (2 - 7 mins)

1. The examiner encourages the students to talk about any topics covered in
units 5 - 8. Students should also be able to talk about other people they know.

1) FOOD
● What’s your favourite food?
● What do you usually have for breakfast / lunch?
● Do you eat meat / vegetables? What do you eat?
● How much bread / pizza / milk / juice do you usually have every day?
● What’s a popular dish in Argentina? How often do you eat that?

2) GET BUSY
● Can you sing / dance / play sports / play any musical instruments, ect.?
● What’s your (brother / sister / husband etc.) doing at the moment? Is he /
she... ing?
● What can you do to protect the environment?
● What’s the weather like today? Is it...?
● How many people are there in your town / city / country?

3) PAST EVENTS
● What did you do last weekend? Did you...? Why?
● Where were you...? Where was your...?
● Did you watch a film last night / yesterday? How was it?
● What was the weather like yesterday?
● When / where were you born? Where did you grow up?
● When did you start / finish school? What did you do when you finished
school?

4) FUTURE PLANS
● What are you going to do this winter? Where? Who... with?
● What’s the date today?
● When’s your birthday?
● Would you like to travel to... in the summer? Why (not)?
● What do you want to do next weekend?

Task 3: Role-play (2 - 6 mins)

1. Have students work in pairs. They should do ONE role-play only (1, 2 or 3).

ROLE – PLAY 1

Student A: Imagine you are a waiter / waitress at DAVE’S PLACE. Look at the menu
and cross out three items. Then talk to Student B and take his / her order.
Student B: Imagine you are at DAVE’S PLACE and you want to order. Student A is the
waiter / waitress. Give him / her your order.

ROLE-PLAY 2

Student A: Invite your partner to do some holiday activities together.


Student B: Accept or refuse Student A’s invitation and discuss.

her what he / she should / shouldn’t do.
