Ans:- My name is harjinder kaur and I hail from Jalandhar
City. I have done bachelors of commerce and I love to care
of kids as well as love to spend some quality of time with
old people and take care of them. I am passionate about
taking care of old ages and disabled person so that is why
I have done 6 months course of nanny and I have also 1
year of experience in a local hospital.

Ans:- My employment will terminate on December

Ans:- I'm looking to take on new responsibilities that my
current role does not offer.My current role isn't using all
of my skills, and I would like to find something more
challenging.On the other hand,I applied a nanny visa
because I would like to go abroad to get experience on
international level and more knowledge in my field.
Q:-5) What is the purpose of WHMIS and what is the full
form of WHMIS?
Ans:- Workplace hazardous material information system.
The purpose of WHMIS is to reduce accident or injury
caused by dangerous material.

Ans:- I am going to take care of one child.

Ans:- my previous job salary was 15000( Canadian dollar

Ans:- Well, it will be depend upon my working hours and
employers. If I will get free time after my job and if my
employer will permit me to do further study after my
working schedule then yes definitely I will prefer to get
further education to enhance my knowledge as well as my
skills.

how did you arrange your job letter?
Ans:- No I have not purchased my job letter. I got my job
letter after giving my interview to my employer on skype
as well as after fulfilling all requirements for his job then i
got my job letter from my employer.
Q:-22) What will you do in case of heart attack?
Ans:-If someone is having a heart attack then I will call 911
or local emergency number and also inform the employer
family members. If the person is not breathing or
unresponsive then I will start CPR and transfer the patient
to the hospital as soon as possible.
Q:-23) What is the most important aspect of nanny job?
Ans:-The most important aspect of nanny job is that to
provide care to the young children, old and disabled
person as well as to serve services to them.
Q:-24) What qualities that children like and respond?
Ans:-Mostly children like friendly behavior and they love
that person who treats them with lots of love and care for
them lovingly and courteous. Moreover who understand
their emotions and teach them politely.
Q:-25) What are the challenges for a nanny doing job?
Ans:-There are numerous type of challenges which a
nanny has to face such as sometimes a nanny has to tackle
the rude behavior of a child or an old person as well as
handle to a stubborn child in a polite way.Moreover, take
care of a disabled person.
Q:-26) Why did you choose to become a caregiver?
Ans:- I chose to be care giver because I am passionate
about to take care of children old and disabled people as
well as I have experience in take care of them and I have
skills and knowledge about how to take care of them.
Q:-27) Explain a situation in which you handling a bad
temper tantrum child?
Ans:- Yes I remember in my previous job when I was
working for the employer Mr.---- child. In starting days my
employer did not fulfilled the child’s wish at that time the
child showed bad temper and tantrum, he started
showing violence and screaming and also starting hit his
hand by the floor.At that time firstly I make the child calm
down. Then diverted his attention and got him busy in
other activities.
Q:-28) If your employer is forcing you to work more than
eight hours do you think he is commiting a crime? If yes,
then how will you deal with the situation?
Ans:-If my employer is forcing me to work more than paid
hours and not paying extra for it, it will be a crime.Then I
will contact Nanny Welfare Association or Employment
Standard Branch.
Q:-29) How will you come to know when your employer
exploiting you?
Ans:-If my employer does not follow the rules set up by
Employment Standard Branch or he goes against my
employment contract it means that my employer is
exploiting me.
Q:-30) 30. What will you do if child falls down from the
stairs?
Ans:-If the child falls down the stairs first I will observe the
condition of the child. If the child has breathing and
circulation problem then I will provide him CPR. If the child
is unconscious then I will dial 911 for ambulance. If there
is fracture involved then I will move the child carefully. In
case of minor cut or wound I will provide first aid. In case
of severe bleeding I will try to stop it by applying pressure
with gauze pad. I will also inform the parents.
Q:-31) What will you do in case the child swallow poison
or poisonous substances?
Ans:-If the child has swallowed poison or poisonous
substance, I will immediately dial 911 for ambulance. I will
contact the poison control centre. If they instruct me to
make the child vomit I will follow the instructions. I will
also inform the parents.
Q:-32) What will you do if the child is very badly hurt?
Ans:-If the child is injured seriously then I will call
immediately 911 and ask for help. I will try to stop
bleeding by applying pressure with gauze pad or cotton. I
will also inform the parents.
Q:-33) What will you do if something gets stuck in the
child’s throat?
Ans:-If something get stuck in the child’s throat I will make
the child bend forward and give back blows in between
the blades/scapula. By this method whatever is stuck will
come out. If it does not work then I will repeat this process
again. If the child gets serious and breathless then I will
call 911. I will not leave the child alone and inform the
parents.
Q:-34) what will you do if the child Burns his/her hand?
Ans:-I will make sure this type of incident does not occur,
however if it happens I will observe the condition of the
child. If the burn area is not serious I will use cold water to
give relief. No doubt cold water causes blister but blisters
are a sign of recovery. I will not puncture the blister and
consult family doctor and treat the child accordingly. If the
burns are serious I will call 911. I will not leave the child
alone and inform the parents. Meantime I will cover the
area with clean and warm sheet and apply silver nitrate
0.02%.
Q:-35) What will you do if the child suffering from High
fever?
Ans:-Firstly I will check the temperature with the help of
thermometer. I will take the appointment from child
specialist and take the child for treatment. If the condition
is serious and nobody is present at home to take the
children for medical help. Then I will dial 911 and inform
the parents. In the meantime I will try to reduce the body
temperature by giving sponge bath to the child and I will
apply cold water strips in the forehead. I will also check
the temperature at regular interval.
Q:-36) What will you do if the child gets lost in the
market/Mall?
Ans:- Firstly I will make sure such an incident does not
occur if he/she gets lost in the mall or market I will
immediately notify the customer care center and security
unit of the mall. I will give them some description of the
child and take help from other people in the mall. If I am
still unable to find the child then I will call 911 for police
assistance and also notify the parents.
Q:-37) What will you do if the child is complaining of
stomachache/pain?
Ans:-If the child is complaining of stomach ache then I will
take an appointment from the child specialist. I will take
the child for treatment. If the pain is severe then I will call
911 and inform the parents.
Q:-38) What will be your reaction if there is any fracture?
Ans:- If there is a fracture involved the I will move the child
very carefully.I will provide support to the fractured part.
I will immediately dial911for ambulance and Inform the
parents.
Q:-39) How will you provide support to fracture parts of
arms and legs?
Ans:- I will fasten armsling to provide support to the
fracture part of arms if the fracture is in the leg then I will
tie a splint to a leg. I will make sure that leg should not
bend. If the fracture is in the neck I will not move the child
because may be spinal cord is broken.
Q:-40) If the child gets an electric shock then what will
you do?
Ans:-If the child gets an electric shock then I will not touch
the child directly. If the power supply is still on I will use a
stick and dry cloth to pull the child away from the source
of electricity then I will immediately call 911 and inform
the parents.
Q:-41) What will you do if the child get head injury?
Ans:-Firstly I will observe the condition of the child and I
have to act very carefully then I will call 911 for emergency
help. If there is external bleeding then I will stop the
bleeding with gauze pad by applying direct pressure on
injured part. Meantime I will act according to the doctor
because I don’t want to risk the life of the child.
Q:-42) If the child locked himself in the room/bathroom
then what will you do?
Ans:- If the child has locked himself in the room then I will
not panic.I keep talking to the child and will try to make
feel comfortable. In meantime I will try to find key. I will
instruct the child open the door. Otherwise I will dial
911for fire brigade and tell them whole situation
Q:-43) If the child doesn’t want to go to school then what
will you do?
Ans:-If the child is not interested in going to school then I
will try to find the reason behind it.If reason is medical
problem then I will take the child to the doctor. If the child
has any problem in school then I will discuss the matter
with the school teacher.
Q:-44) Suppose you are alone at home with the child and
you are being threatened by a stranger what will you do?
Ans:- If anybody threat to the child I will take the child to
a safe place in the house and I will immediately dial 911
for police faculty and also notify the parents
Q:-45) Suppose the child mother is in the hospital
because of her illness and she wants meet the child? Will
you take the child to the hospital?
Ans:- Firstly, I need the permission of my employer.If
employer gives me permission then I will take the child to
the hospital. I will also take the permission of the doctor.
Q:-46) What will you do if the child gets a minor cut?
Ans:- in these case if there is bleeding firstly I will try to
stop the bleeding. I will apply anti septic like( Dettol,
savlon) on the wound and I will apply dressing as required.
Q:-47) What precautions will you keep in mind while
providing medicine to the child/old person?
Ans:-firstly I will check the name, expired date and
purpose of the medicine.How much, how often, and for
how long the medicine should be taken.How the medicine
should be given. For example: taken by mouth; breathed
into the lungs; inserted into the ears, eyes, or rectum; or
applied to the skin.Any special instructions, like whether
the medicine should be taken with or without food.How
the medicine is stored
Q:-48) What will you do if the child does unusual
activities?
Ans:- If the child does some unusual activity then I will try
to find the reason behind it. I will ask the child to share his
problem with me. I will also discuss the matter with his
parents.
Q:-49) What will you do if some small object has gone in
the child eyes?
Ans:- Firstly,I will try to remove the object by gently
splashing the cold water into his eyes.If the object doesn’t
come out I will take the child to the eyes specialist and also
notify the parents. I will never risk with child.
Q:-50) How will you provide bath to small child?
Ans:- Before bathing a small child, I will give massage to
him with baby oil. I make him sit in the bath tub. I will also
check the temperature of water.I will apply body shop and
miled shampoo while holding the child with the other
hand. After giving bath. I will gently wipe the child body
with a soft towel.I will dry and dress the baby .After
bathing I will discard the dirty water.
Q:-51) If child crying then what will you do?
Ans:- first of all,I will try to find the reason behind it. I will
check the feeding time if still he/she crying continually
then may be he/she has medical problem then I will take
the child for medical checkup and also notify the parents.
Q:-52) What will you do if the child is in the suffocated
area?
Ans:- If the child is in the closed area, I will open the
windows and doors. I will take the child outside in the
fresh air. If the child condition serious then I will dial 911
for ambulance and also notify the parents.
Q:-53) What will you do if the child gets nose bleeding?
Ans:- I will make the child sit on the chair and bend
forward. I will close the clothes near his/her neck. I will put
dry cloth around his/her neck as a bib. I will ask the child
to pinch his nostrils.If the bleeding is due to head injury
then I will immediately dial 911 ambulance.
Q:-54) What will you do if something gets stuck in the
child nose?
Ans:- If something get stuck in the child’s nose and the
object near child’s nostrils. I will try to take out by
pressing the nose in down forward position. If it goes
deeper then I will take the child for medical help and I will
also inform the parents.
Q:-55) What will you do if the child has ear bleeding?
Ans:- Firstly, I will observe the bleeding. If it is external
bleeding. I will try to stop it by applying pressure with
gauze pad on the injured area. If the bleeding is internal
then I will immediately dial 911 and ask for ambulance. In
the meantime I will apply large bandage on the injured
ear. I will lay down the child in that side from where the
blood is coming. I will also notify the parents.
Q:-56) What will you do if something splashes in the eye
of child?
Ans:- If something enter in the eye I will immediately
splash the eye with clean water while keeping the eye lid
hold open I will apply bandage dressing on the other eye
to reduce the eye moment of injured eye and I will take
the child to specialist for treatment. I will not touch the
injured eye.
Q:-57) What will you do if child suffering from jaw injury?
Ans:- I will try to stop the jaw movement by making the
child bite teeth together. I can wrap off well with
handkerchief around the child’s head under the chin. I will
take the child for medical help I will also notify the
parents.
Q:-58) What will you do if u forget the way ?
Ans:- since I am going to foreign country. I will always
keep a map with me. I will try to find out the way from
the map. I can ask from person who will near. If still I can’t
find the way then I will contact my employer and ask
about direction otherwise I can hire a taxi /cab.
Q:-59) What will you do if the child wants to go outside
and there is snow?
Ans:- I will try to divert the attention. I will try to keep him
busy in his favorite things. If the child is stubborn and he
wants to go outside then I will discuss with his parents. If
my employer gives me permission then I will dress up the
child in warm clothes according to the weather and take
him outside with me.
Q:-60) What will you do if something gets stuck in the
child’s eyes?
Ans:- If the foreign material gets into the child eye then I
will not try to take it out because it may go deeper. I will
apply bandage on the other eye to reduce eye movement
of the injured eye. I will splash cold water gently into the
eye so that it come out. I will take the child to eye
specialist and I will also notify the parents.
Q:-61) What will you do if phone call comes while you are
busy giving bath to the child. Will you pic the call?
Ans:- No. I will not pick up the call because my main duty
is to take care of child and old person. Secondly I will not
leave the child alone in the bath tub.
Q:-62) What will you do if the child hit by vehicle?
Ans:- I will make sure such an accident does not occur. If
it is occurs then I will see the child is unconscious or
conscious. I will call upon 911 for ambulance. I will also call
for police assistance. If there is bleeding I will apply direct
pressure with gauze pad. If there is minor cut then I will
provide first aid. And I will also notify the parents. I will not
leave the child alone.
Q:-63) What will you do if the child suffering from ankle
sprained?
Ans:- I will provide support to the child. I will make him sit
in comfortable position. I will ask the child not to put
weight on the sprained leg. I will take the child for
medical help. In the meantime, I will apply Ice pack on the
injured area to provide relief on the affected area and it
will also help in reducing the swelling.
Q:-64) How will you come to know that airway is clearly?
Ans:- I will give the person one light mouth to mouth
respiration, If the chest rises up then it means the airway
is clear
Q:-65) What is child safety?
Ans:-I will always keep first aid box in the house. I will not
give him sharp things to play. I will not leave the child
alone. I will keep all the poison things away from the reach
of child. Floor should not be slippery. Always close the
door of stairs.
Q:-66) How did you come in touch with your
employment agency?
Ans:- I found my employment through internet because I
posted my resume on internet.

institute where I got my nanny course.
Q:-67) How did you come to know that you have get job
offer in Canada?
Ans:-When my employer took my interview on phone, he
was satisfied with my interview. Then my employer sent
me employment contract to sign which was already signed
by my employer. So I got job placement in Canada.
Q:-68) What will you do if your employer is not happy
with you?
Ans:- Firstly I will try to find the reason behind it, I will try
to solve misunderstanding. If they want some changes in
my services, I will try to change myself accordingly. If the
problem still persists I will discuss with nanny welfare
association and HRDC.
Q:-69) Why are you going to Canada?
Ans:- I have got job offer to work as a caregiver from
Canada and my employer also permanent residence in
Canada.
Q:-70)What are the function of nanny welfare
association?
Ans:-Nanny welfare association helps in protecting the
rights of a nanny and if a nanny is facing some problem
with employer then nanny welfare association can help in
solving the issues.
Q:-71) What will you do if your employer does not want
services any more?
Ans:- I will ask my employer to give me a written notice.
In the meantime, I will also contact to my employment
agency and discuss with them. I will ask to find another
employer. I will come back to my home country,if I am
unable to find a new job.

solve misunderstanding. If they want some changes in my
services, I will try to change myself accordingly. If the

Q:-72) What are the possible problems an employee
mainly face at his/her work place?
Ans:- If the employee (caregiver) does not getting salary
on time. Whenever employee is not paid overtime to the
caregiver. In case that,an employer force nanny to do
work which is not mentioned in the contract.
Q:-73) Why did your employer hire you? Or Why did your
employer need a nanny?
Ans:- My employer and his wife both are elderly
person.They don’t have anyone take care of them so
that’s why they hired me or My employer and his wife
both are working full time. They don’t have anyone to take
care of their children so that why they hired me.
Q:-74) Do you have idea to settle down over there?
Ans:-First of all, I will concentrate on my job only. It will
depend upon the situation later on.
Q:-75) What is employment standard/agreement?
Ans:- Employment standard is a several rules or regulation
under willing on employee works job.
Q:-76) Do you need your employer permission to contact
nanny welfare association?
Ans:- No, I don’t need my employer permission to contact
nanny welfare association. I freely contact with them
anytime and talk to them regarding my job wages and
employer.
Q:-77) What will you do,if your employer is not paying
pay on time?
Ans:- Firstly, I will try to find the reason behind it. If my
employer has financial problems then I can wait for
sometime. If he is still not paying me,I will contact with
NWA(Nanny welfare association).

Ans:- I need work permit and social Insurance number
(SIN) are the basic things required to do work in Canada.

Ans:- Honestly speaking, I do not need to encourage
myself to do work because usually I always passionate
about my work and I feel more energetic during my
working hours.
Q:-81)Would you reveal a secret with a kid?
Ans:- well,it will depend upon a situation if I will feel that
child is hiding something from me then I will tell any lie
secret to kid just to reveal his /her secret.
Q:-82) Are you comfortable with the simple chores of a
house?
Ans:- yes, J am comfortable with the simple chores of the
house because I am habitual of doing household chores at
my own house also.
Q:-83) what is the favorite part of being care giver?
Ans:- My favorite part of being care giver is that to take
care of child and old or disabled person as well as I get a
chance to interact with them
Q:-84) Are you trained in a first aid?
Ans:- yes I am trained in a first aid as I am trained during
my practical part of course.
Q:-85) What short of activities are you plan for child?
Ans:-I plan different types of activities for a child such as I
take child out for playing in the park, Play indoor games
with child, read story books to enhance knowledge and
many more.
Q:-86) How would you handle a child who talked back to
you?
Ans:-Well I would not like to handle that child aggressively
I will tackle that child politely and teach in a gentle way
that it is not a good habit and guide him you should not do
this activity again.
Q:-87) What will you do if child mix with bad company?
Ans:- first of all, I will try to escape him from bad
company. I will teach him/her this is not a good habit and
it can spoil his life as well as future also. I will show him
motivational videos and encourage him to join good
company instead of bad company but if there will be
something serious then I will discuss with my employer
about that matter.
Q:-88) Do you have any experience in handling children
with special needs and disability?
Ans:-Yes, I have a experience to handle children with
special needs or disabilities. When I was in a school one of
the student who’s suffering with a disease of polio. He was
unable to walk but he was so intelligent and on that time
am always try to give my best because he was not able to
walk and I try to do some creative thing with him and give
some stories books which helps for developing his mental
development. I was also try to entertain home with his
liking and disliking.
Q:-89) what will you do if child hurt you?
Ans:- If a child hurt me then first of all I will react calmly as
well as patiently I will not treat him/ her aggressively and
try to teach him/ her that is not a good activity and it can
be harmful for other person.
Q:-90) How would you teach a child about discipline?
Ans:- I would try to make a Home environment well
disciplined to teach a child about discipline as well as I will
manage each and every thing in a disciple way so from
these types of activities a child can learn about discipline.
Q:-91) How would you built new habits in a child?
Ans:- Well, I will try to built new habits in a child by
teaching him/her good habits as well as by teaching what
are the benefits of good habits. Moreover, I will try to set
an example in front of them which can teach them
morality.
Q:-92) What is your opinion about kids playing video
games and watching the T.V?
Ans:- According to my perception about playing video
games and watching the TV By playing video games
children can enhance their cognitive skills as well as they
can sharp their mind and they also learn how to response
frequently and how to face hard challenges in their life.
Whereas, by watching TV children can get knowledge
about different fields by watching epic channels and
discovery channel. But parents have to keep an eye on
children that what they are watching on TV but both are
negative affect on eye sight so both should be used in
limit.
Q:-93) how to provide massage to the children?
Ans:- I will take the child lie down I will take a smile
quantity of baby oil in my palms and will apply on the
body. I will give gently massage to the child.
Q:-94) What will you do if the child frightened while
watching TV?
Ans:- Firstly,I will switch off the TV. I will tell the child that
there is nothing wrong,I will to divert his attention by
providing toys or talking him or taking go outside. I will
entertain the child by telling stories and poems so that the
child can forget the scene.
Q:- 95) You are from different stream why you change
your field?
Ans:- After completing my studies I was looking for a job
that’s when I came across job for nannies, I found it to be
very interesting. Even though this stream was different
from my studies but I was much more interested in this
field as it is a selfless and giving job so I decided to study
this course and look for jobs in the same field.

Ans:-I did nanny course because nannies are in great
demand both on national and international level.
Moreover I enjoy working with old, disabled person and
children. Nannies are paid well too.
Q:-97) What books would you recommend to the
children?
Ans:- There are lots of books which can recommend to our
children like some stories books, religious books etc. I am
give them those books which has great meaning and great
Knowledge and also according to their age. If our children
weak in any subject then I will try to give them those books
which are related to their subject.
Q:-98) How will you manage in uk?
Ans:-I don’t think it difficult for me because I have already
experience to stay away from my home during a study .
Secondly I am mature I have able to face/handle and
tackle problem according to situation.
Q:-99) Are you comfortable with long shift?
Ans:-I can work any shift you require me, it’s my duty to
be there when you need me. I would be happy to work
long, night and weekend shifts.
Q:-100) You are a student of different stream, what make
you to change your field?
Ans:-After completing my studies I was looking for a job
that’s when I came across job for nannies, I found it to be
very interesting. Even though this stream was different
from my studies but I was much more interested in this
field as it is a selfless and giving job so I decided to study
this course and look for jobs in the same field.
