Branch Connec on for steel pipe

Branch Connec on for HDPE

Slurry Pipeline

 For the long run of the pipes, the flanges shall be considered at every 6m length. Pipe
flanged spools length, face to face over flanges shall not exceed standard pipe lengths of
each pipe dia.
 Flanges shall be used for change of direction and change of dia of the pipes.
 The horizontal portion of the pipes must have some inclination to avoid the accumulation of
slurry during the unexpected shutdown or for self-draining.
 Reducers on the horizontal suction lines shall be flanged, eccentric and installed top flat.
Reducers in the discharge end shall be concentric type.
 The minimum pipe size in the slurry pipelines shall not be less than 50 NB.
 Flushing connections shall be provided on the lines conveying slurries. Drain and flushing
point connection sizes shall be as per P&ID.
 3D & 5D bends shall be used for all slurry lines. For slurry (SG above 1.04) shall use 3D or 5D
bends. Standard elbows, short radius bends shall not be used in the slurry lines. Tees shall be
avoided in the slurry pipeline.
 Mining hose can be used for elbows, bends and for gravity lines.

Water pipeline
 Standard length pipe shall be joined through welding. However, the flange connection shall
be provided strategically for maintenance purposes.
 Standard elbows, bends, and tees shall be used in the water pipeline.
 Reducers on the horizontal suction lines shall be flanged, eccentric and installed top flat.
Reducers in the discharge end shall be concentric type.

Air Pipeline Fluid Service.

 Standard length pipe shall be joined through welding.

 Standard elbows, bends, and tees shall be used in the water pipeline.
 Concentric reducers shall be used.

Piping Layout.

 Process pipes having self-drainage slopes shall be self-supported on the individual support
traveling inside the building. When these pipes are traveling outside then it shall be self-
supported on single column.
 Gravity lines shall be laid with sufficient slope for smooth transfer of fluid.
 Pipe rakes / pipe bridge can be used for traveling of overhead pipes of smaller dia for u lity
pipeline. A common rack shall be used for a group of pipes and branches shall be made for
pipes running to the final delivery point. However individual pipe trestle/ column shall be
preferred for running overhead pipe groups.
 Wherever possible Instruments mounted on the pipes must have an access pla orm for
installa on, calibra on, and maintenance of instruments.
 All instruments shall be posi oned as per the requirement of the respec ve instruments.
