Amazon Music and PXT USA Apr 2021 to June

2022
• Keeping up with the trend of innovation, Amazon Music dreamed of a revolutionary product called AMP,
this mobile app is online radio where any person can host their show. This app architecture was to
support multi-million users to be supported at peak hours. This complex product has multiple
challenges, and I assumed the role of heading the Creator Payment function of engineering for Amp
i.e. Monetization. Job involves defining functional and technical roadmap, building and growing product
and team, hiring the right skill set as per changing product direction and user demand, growing engineers
and managers in their career path. Post cost benefit analysis of multiple existing solution and Amazon
financial downstream system developed high volume system architecture supporting daily processing
of 10million records and incremental development strategy. Through close collaboration with business
and product delivered high impact features on time gaining confidence and appreciation of business.
Hired engineers from day 1, promoted engineers to next level and coached an engineer to manager
track. Technology Stack: AWS Cloud, microservices, dev ops
• Joined Amazon in PXT team to lead a team of 40 cross location engineers and 2 managers, while PXT
was going through a paradigm shift to enable the vision of being world best employer. Current
employees facing services were dispersed and confusing to use, making day-to-day life of employees
difficult. With a volume of 2 million employees worldwide in mid of pandemic, dependency on these
applications were high and I delivered one touch application for covid related cases following workflow
for warehouses. Later I took the responsibility to perform user pain point study with Product Manager
and came up with one stop easy to use solution for all employee facing services that required study of
existing systems. This required exploring existing solutions being used in other verticals, exploring
market space and finalizing make vs buy decision. I presented the organization with a solution of using
existing backend systems with integration of one front end systems enabled by various workflows
creating minimal investment with max benefit opportunity. Hired engineers and SDET, promoted
engineers to next level and coached a TPM to manager track Technology Stack: AWS Cloud,
microservices
