 LƯU Ý VỀ SỐ ĐẾM
• Số đếm từ 13 – 19: thêm đuôi “teen” vào mỗi số. Ví dụ: Thirteen, fourteen, fifteen,
sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen.
Chú ý: 13 là Thirteen (không phải Threeteen), 15 là Fifteen (không phải Fiveteen)
• Số đếm từ 20 – 30:
Với các chữ số hàng chục, ta thêm đuôi “ty” đằng sau và ta có những con số được ghép
lại với nhau như sau:
20 là twenty; tiếp tục với 21 twenty-one, 22 twenty-two, 23 twenty-three…
30 là thirty; tiếp tục với 31 thirty-one, 32 thirty-two,
33 thirty-three… 100 là ‘one hundred’ hoặc ‘a
hundred’
1,000 là ‘one thousand’ hoặc ‘a
thousand’ 1,000,000 là ‘one
million’ hoặc ‘a million’
• Trong tiếng Việt, ta dùng dấu “.” (dấu chấm) để phân cách mỗi 3 đơn vị số từ
phải sang trái. Nhưng trong tiếng Anh, chúng ta sử dụng dấu “,” (dấu phẩy), ví
dụ: Mười triệu sáu trăm ngàn sẽ viết là 10,600,000.

LƯU Ý VỀ SỐ THỨ TỰ
• Về cơ bản, số đếm + “th” = số thứ tự
Ví dụ: four fourth, eleven eleventh, twenty twentieth, … (“y” đổi thành
“ie” trước rồi mới thêm “th”)
• Một số ngoại lệ: one – first, two – second, three – third, five – fifth, eight –
eighth, nine – ninth, twelve – twelfth.
