The presiding officer gives the overview of the
Opening statement meeting as well as its purpose why it is called.
He said, let hear from Mr. Alfonso Ampong
some inputs regarding PEAC guidelines which
private schools ought to abide.
Mandatory requirements Mr. Alfonso Ampong elaborates a little the role
for Re/Certification of ESC of PEAC to the Private schools as a partner of
participating Private policy implementer of Department of
Schools. Education.

He said, it is mandated that private schools are


ought to abide the DepEd orders and guidelines
through the PEAC supervision because such
committee is the DepEd partner to implement
its policies. Through this collaboration and
partnership PEAC had recommended some
guidelines to be followed by the Private
schools. One of PEAC requirements that private
schools to provide is the “Structure-based
School Improvement Plan” (SSIP)
SSIP format PEAC had recommended unified format that
private schools to follow and the content to
plan out in the SSIP are those items in the
“Certification Assessment Instrument” (CAI) of
which all of them are part of the school
operations. These school operations range from
1 to 9 items. The PEAC evaluator looks into the
items enumerated in the CAI one by one during
Re-certification visit. The private school concern
should see to it that PEAC guidelines must be
observed or else it affects to the Re-certification
evaluation rating during the visitation schedule.

Viewing the above items all of them are really
part of school operations. No reason schools
retrogress if these items are well managed and
fully emphasized.
