The Importance of Education

According to Benjamin Franklin, “An investment in knowledge
pays the best interest.” Most of the successful professionals known
to this day can definitely affirm this. Education plays a significant
part in helping an individual progress and develop important skills
in life. While most people may say that going to school is tiring,
investing in your road to success through gaining knowledge is
worth the struggle. By going to school, learning, and attaining not
only basic, but general education, anybody can reach for greater
heights and achieve more in life.

We live in an age where many of us acquire a living even

without receiving general education. Due to that, people have been
setting education aside and prioritising their jobs. However,
education helps you gain experience, and experience helps you learn
about the everyday realities of a working life, and equips you with
knowledge you would be able to use once you officially become a
professional.

Speaking of professionals, education also produces more

professionals that help contribute to improving the nation. Such
professionals have gone through intensive training and high levels
of education to reach the point they're at now.

Although some people may argue that education can never be

better than experience, education also plays a big part in gaining
experience, as stated in the second paragraph. For instance, if a
farmer's son didn't receive any knowledge or education about how
to farm, he wouldn't be able to farm at all.

Education also develops a handful of skills that can be used in

your daily life, professional or not. One of the skills that can be
developed by education is the way one thinks. Critical thinking is
important because it helps develop problem-solving skills. Such a
skill can be used in a lot of ways, may it be in your daily struggles at
home, or at work. Not only that, it also increases leadership skills,
as most leaders require critical thinking to be able to function
properly, as leaders most often experience struggles having to
simultaneously take responsibility and manage their group mates,
schoolwork, and private life.

Taking everything into consideration, I think we can all agree

that education is important not only so that we can gain
information, but also because it is part of human progress. Skills
that are learned through education can definitely be put to good use
in the future.
