    HAIKU WRITING CONTEST GUIDELINES

    Haiku is a three-line-Japanese poetry with five syllables in the first line, seven in the
    second, and five in the third.

    1. The contest is open to all Grade 11 students.

    2. Only one submission per contestant is allowed.

    3. The poem must reflect the theme “Wonders of Reading” and will follow the 5-7-5 rule.

    4. Haiku entries must be an original composition and must not contain any malicious or
    offensive content.

    5. The composition must be written in English in a short bond paper.

    6. Submission period must be on November 22, 2023 during their English time.

    7. Judging of the entries must be based from this rubric:
