The first speaker introduced the topic about Strategies to involve “Children in Conflict with the Law”
and successfully discussed by the Science Coordinator and a Master Teacher I of Junior High School
Department, Mr. Elwood V. Barbolino. As the evaluative activity for his session, he tasked the participants to
craft a lesson plan in which the participant will integrate the topic he discussed and selected participants present
their work.
The second speaker, Ms. Angelica C. Aban, Mathematics Coordinator tackled the topic about “Engaging
students in Critical, Creative, and Higher Order Thinking”. For the evaluation of her session, the participants
were assigned individually to make a DLP or LAS integrating the topic discussed. Some of the participants
volunteered to present their output.
On the third SLAC, the session about “Contextualization, Localization, and Indigenization” was
introduced by Mr. Jenny M. Relano, Teacher III of Junior High School Department. He refreshed the minds of
the Teachers on making a lesson plan that the learners can easily understand. After the discussion, participants
were asked to make a plan iintegrating the topic and tasked to present and submit their output.
In the 18th day of February 2022, Panique NHS conducted it’s fourth School Learning Action Cell
(SLAC) Session. To facilitate the many needs of training our teachers to enhance their teaching skills, the
SLAC conducted on February 18, 2022, focused on “Integration of Literacy and Numeracy in Lessons “. The
said topic was facilitated by Evelyn F. Navarro. There were two groups who participated in this session, Science
and Mathematics teachers.
The main goal of the session is to help the learners improve their achievements in literacy and numeracy
by integrating it in various subjects and lessons during this modular distance learning scheme of the Department
of Education.
Indeed, the training has imparted knowledge to the teacher and if properly executed, it might show
fruitful result regarding the literacy and numeracy skills of the students of Panique National High School. The
participants of the session are active and participative from the beginning to the end of the session.
