● LET’S PRACTICE! Watch the movie called “WONDER”, and follow the story of Auggie
Pullman, who was born with a facial deformity that has made it difficult for him to make
friends. After doing so, write a review pointing out the positive and negative aspects of the
movie, as well as the critics’ and your own opinion about it. (140 - 190 WORDS).

Wonder is a really beautiful and emotive movie, It all start with the history of Auggie Pullman, a young
kid that was born with a facial deformity, despite all of this problems with his face, he was really secure
of himself, through all of his life he was studying in his house with the help of his mum, that was a
teacher.

In fifth year, and all the insecurities and problems started there, he went to school for the first time, and
it was really expected that the other boys make him bullying, so he felt really bad and insecure about
him, so his dad buy him an astronaut helmet, so he wore it all the time for not get any other comment
about it.

Through the past of the year, he made some friends that were really true friendship, and make him
realized that he can get many friends being just the way he is.

This movie, in my point of view, it’s a really emotive and reflexive way to think about how some people
with this conditions can get mentally affected

I really love all the movie, because it’s a topic I really enjoy investigating and learning more about, and
it’s a movie that I really recommend to watch with your friends, or family, and reflect about it.

● It’s time to practice! Read the following task and write your story. Do not forget that starting
your story with the given sentence is MANDATORY.

Your English teacher has asked you to write a story.


Your story must begin with this sentence: ‘I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.‘
Write your story in 100-120 words.

I took a deep breath and knocked on the door, i heard a really strange sound coming from that room so
i needed to check out what was happening there, with an anxious feeling i open it, and it was there, a
lot of a lot of dust and creepy cobwebs, I went down the stairs and I never imagined what I was going
to find.

It was a man tied to a chair, gagged and it looked like he had been there for approximately 2 days. He
was unconscious and without thinking I went to give him food and water. After several hours there by
his side I asked him why he was tied here. He just answered me with a very nervous tone saying "be
careful of her." I didn't know what she was referring to until I heard my mother come home screaming.
Without thinking, I ran out of that room and managed to escape from the house before my mother saw
that I was there. The last thing I could see was me. mom holding a knife on the way to the room where
the man was.
