Topic: Some people think that exercise is the key to health while others feel that

having a balanced diet is more important.

Discuss both sides and give your opinion

Nowadays, people tend to pay more attention to their health. Some of

them believe that exercising and moving their body is the most important factor
in improving health. Others think that having a strict healthy diet is vital. In the
following essay, I will discuss both points of view.

To begin with, exercising regularly has a ton of benefits. Improving your

sleep, boosting your energy, reducing the risk of chronic diseases, improving your
cognitive functions… a non-ending list of benefits. In the US, every 36 seconds, 1
person dies from cardiovascular disease. It has been scientifically proven that 150
minutes of exercising per week are enough to make a difference and avoid heart
disease. Sports not only improve physical health but also help mental well-being.
According to research by the Mentally Healthy WA Centre for Behavioural
Research in Cancer Control, practicing 4+ times per week reduces psychological
distress by 46%.

On the other hand, following a healthy diet is crucial to stay fit. Food fuels
our bodies with all the necessary nutrients, vitamins, and minerals needed for
optimal health, thus can help boost energy levels and reduce fatigue. Also, a
balanced diet can help support a strong immune system to fight against
infections. In addition, clean eating prevents obesity which is a risk factor for
other deadly diseases.
In conclusion, according to the World Health Organization, “Health is a
state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being’’. And to achieve that I
believe that a good diet alone is not sufficient nor only physical activity, but both.
In fact, they complement each other. Hence, a balanced amount of both is the key
to health.
