PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION PLAN / ACTION PLAN

I. INTRODUCTION:
Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) is one of the programs under the National Greening Program of the Department of Education. The GPP is one of the mechanisms
the government implemented to promote and raise awareness to address food insecurity in the country. Food insecurity is the state where people lack regular access to enough
safe and nutritious food for normal growth and development and active and healthy life. However, the proponent of this project targeted to produce fresh fruits from the school
garden such as sili which is highly unpredictable cost in the market, calamansi and the likes.
It will also serve as a laboratory where students can learn and apply their knowledge on fruit-bearing production and showcase small–scale food production models. It will
also inculcate among the students the values of gardening, wellness and care for environment.
Project ITANIM (Income sa Taniman, Aalalay sa Nangangailangan para sa Ikagagaling ng mga Mag-aaral in our school dubbed as "Gamit Mo, Sagot ng Garden Ko”
– Season 1 as an income-generating project for schools is that it can help generate additional resources that can be used to support the school's operations and programs. By
selling the fruits produced in the garden, the school can generate income that can be used to purchase school supplies, equipment, and other necessary resources most especially
in helping the less fortunate learners of the school by providing them the learning materials such as notebooks, pen, paper, etc.
Moreover, the project can also help promote sustainable agriculture practices and contribute to the local economy by providing a source of fresh produce for the community.
The school can sell the fruits to the local market or directly to the community, thereby creating opportunities for small-scale entrepreneurship.
Another rationale is that Project ITANIM can also provide opportunities for student engagement and participation. By involving students in the planning, implementation,
and maintenance of the garden, they can develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and entrepreneurship through the enhancement of the learning competencies
in Edukasyong Pantahan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP) subject and other learning areas.
Overall, Project ITANIM prescribes the participation of parents and other members of the community in the conduct of educational programs related to nutrition education,
basic pest management, food preservation techniques, composting and environmental conservation, among others which can be seen as a holistic approach to promoting health,
education, and sustainability in schools, while also providing opportunities for income generation and community engagement.

III. OBJECTIVES:
Project ITANIM aims to promote and encourage school gardening in both public and private schools. While the primary objective of the project is to provide students with
access to fresh and healthy fruits, there are several income-generation objectives that can be achieved through this program:
1. Providing a source of income: A well-managed Project ITANIM can produce a variety of fruits that can be sold or consumed by the school and its surrounding
communities. This can provide an additional source of income for the school, especially in areas where resources are limited.

2. Improving nutrition: By growing their own fruits, students and teachers can have access to fresh, healthy produce that can supplement their diets. This can help improve
the nutritional status of students and staff, leading to better health outcomes.
3. Enhancing environmental sustainability: By practicing sustainable gardening techniques, such as composting and using natural pest control methods, Project ITANIM
can contribute to the conservation of natural resources and reduce the environmental impact of food production.
4. Promoting education: School gardening projects can also be used as a tool to teach students about agriculture, ecology, and nutrition. It can provide opportunities for
hands-on learning and practical application of concepts learned in the classroom especially in Edukasyong Pantahan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP) subject and other learning areas.
5. Fostering community engagement: Project ITANIM can also serve as a platform for community engagement and involvement. It can bring together students, teachers,
parents, and other community members to work towards a common goal of promoting healthy eating and sustainable living.
