indranéla-maëi-maïjula-varëaù
phulla-népa-kusumäïcita-karëaù
kåñëaläbhir akåçorasi häré
sundaro jayati kuïja-vihäré

indranéla--sapphire; maëi--jewel; maïjula--charming; varëaù--color; phulla--


blossoming; népa--kadamba; kusumäïcita--with flowers; karëaù--ears; kåñëaläbhir--
with garlands of guïjä (berries or small conchshells); akåça--decorated; urasi--chest;
häré--charming; sundaro--handsome; jayati--all glories; kuïja--in the forest; vihäré--who
enjoys transcendental pastimes.

His complexion is as splendid as sapphires, He wears kadamba-blossom earrings,
and His broad chest is decorated with a garland of guïjä.

rädhikä-vadana-candra-cakoraù
sarva-ballava-vadhü-dhåti-cauraù
carcaré-caturatäïcita-cäré
cäruto jayati kuïja-vihäré

rädhikä--of Rädhä; vadana--of the face; candra--the moon; cakoraù--the cakora bird;
sarva--all; ballava-vadhü--the gopés; dhåti--the peacefulness; cauraù--stealing; carcaré--
carcaré; caturatäïcita--with skill; cäré--doing; cäruto--expertly.

All glories to Çré Kåñëa, who enjoys transcendental pastimes in Våndävana forest.
He is the cakora bird who drinks the moonlight of Çré Rädhä’s face. He steals
away the composure of all the gopés. Skillfully clapping His hands in the rhythm
known as carcaré, He dances very gracefully.

dhvaàsanena håta-väsava-garvaù
goñöha-rakñaëa-kåte giridhäré
lélayä jayati kuïja-vihäré

sarvataù--everywhere; prathita--famous; kaulika--of the family; parva--the sacrifice;


dhvaàsanena--by stopping; håta--taken; väsava--of Indra; garvaù--the pride; goñöha--
Vraja; rakñaëa--protection; kåte--for the purpose; giridhäré--lifting Govardhana Hill;
lélayä--playfully.

After stopping His relatives from performing the famous Indra-yajïa sacrifice, He
removed Indra’s pride and protected the people of Vraja by playfully lifting
Govardhana Hill.

räga-maëòala-vibhüñita-vaàçé-
vibhrameëa madanotsava-çaàsé
stüyamäna-caritaù çuka-çäré-
çreëibhir jayati kuïja-vihäré

räga--of melodies; maëòala--with a circle; vibhüñita--decorated; vaàçé--the flute;


vibhrameëa--with pastimes; madanotsava--the festival of love; çaàsé--praising;
stüyamäna--being praised; caritaù--pastimes; çuka--the male parrot; çäré--the female
parrot; çreëibhir--by the multitudes.

All glories to Çré Kåñëa, who enjoys transcendental pastimes in Våndävana forest
—pastimes that are glorified by the male and female parrots. By decorating His
flute with many beautiful melodies, He glorifies the festival of His transcendental
amorous love.

keki-candraka-viräjita-cülaù
navya-yauvana-lasad-vraja-näré-
raïjano jayati kuïja-vihäré

çätakumbha--of gold; ruci--the splendor; häri--eclipsing; dukülaù--garments; keki--


peacock; candraka--feather; viräjita--splendid; cülaù--crown; navya--new; yauvana--
youth; lasad--glistening; vraja--of Vraja; näré--the girls; raïjano--delighting.

All glories to Çré Kåñëa, who enjoys transcendental pastimes in Våndävana forest.
The luster of His silk garments eclipses the glory of gold. The top of His head is
decorated with a peacock feather. He pleases the splendid girls of Vraja.

sthäsaké-kåta-sugandhi-paöéraù
svarëa-käïci-pariçobhi-kaöéraù
rädhikonnata-payodhara-väré-
kuïjaro jayati kuïja-vihäré

sthäsaké-kåta--anointed; sugandhi--fragrant; paöéraù--sandal paste; svarëa--golden;


käïci--belt; pariçobhi--splendid; kaöéraù--hips; rädhikä--of Çré Rädhikä; unnata--
beautiful; payodhara--face; väré--ropes; kuïjaro--elephant.

All glories to Çré Kåñëa, who enjoys transcendental pastimes in Våndävana forest.
He is anointed with fragrant sandal paste. His hips are decorated with a golden
belt. He is the elephant bound by the rope of the beautiful face of Çré Rädhikä.

subhruväm jayati kuïja-vihäré

pastimes; caïcalita--moving; campaka--campaka flower; mälaù--garland; adri--
mountain; kandara--caves; gåheñv--in the homes; abhisäré--meeting; subhruväm--the
beautiful-eyebrowed girls.

All glories to Çré Kåñëa, who enjoys transcendental pastimes in Våndävana forest.
His forehead is splendid with golden tilaka made from mineral pigments. His
campaka garland moves to and fro in His pastimes. He meets the beautiful-
eyebrowed gopés in the palatial caves of Govardhana Hill.

vibhramoccala-dåg-aïcala-nåtya-
kñipta-gopa-lalanäkhila-kåtyaù
prema-matta-våñabhänu-kumäré-
nägaro jayati kuïja-vihäré

vibhrama--playful; uccala--moving; dåg--eyes; aïcala--corners; nåtya--dancing; kñipta--


cast aside; gopa-lalanä--gopés; akhila--all; kåtyaù--household duties; prema--with love;
matta--intoxicated; våñabhänu--of king Våñabhänu; kumäré--the daughter; nägaro--the
hero.

All glories to Çré Kåñëa, who enjoys transcendental pastimes in Våndävana forest.
His dancing sidelong glances make the gopés drop all their household duties. He is
the charming lover of Våñabhänu’s daughter, who is mad with love for Him.

añöakaà madhura-kuïja-vihäri-
kréòayä paöhati yaù kila häri
sa prayäti vilasat-para-bhägaà
tasya päda-kamalärcana-rägam

añöakam--eight verses; madhura--charming; kuïja--in the forest; vihäri--enjoying


transcendental pastimes; kréòayä--with pastimes; paöhati--reads; yaù--one who; kila--
indeed; häri--beautiful; sa--he; prayäti--goes; vilasat--splendid; para-bhägam--virtues;
tasya--of Him; päda--feet; kamala--lotus; arcana--worship; rägam--love.

He who reads these eight verses, which are beautified by the Lord’s charming
pastimes in the forest, will attain many splendid transcendental virtues. He will
become attached to the service of the Lord’s lotus feet.
