VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
TRADE AND INFORMATION ASSISTANT

The South African High Commission in New Delhi, India, invites candidates to apply for the post of
Trade and Information Assistant. The position is based in New Delhi. There will be a 3 months’ probation
period. South African Nationals are also encouraged to apply.

Post Requirements
Qualifications:
• A relevant three (3) post-school qualification
• Proficiency in English and Hindi languages (read, speak & write)
• Candidates must be computer literate (MS Package, i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook,
Publisher etc)
Experience:
• Plus, three (3) years’ relevant experience as a Trade and Information Assistant or in a related
field with translating experience.

KRA 1: Monitoring and analysis of developments in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal

KRA 2: Provides Information
KRA 3: Event Organisation
KRA 4: Service delivery

4. Computer literacy (software and hardware) MSOffice™ suite of programmes such as MS Word,
MS Excel, MS FrontPage, MS Access, use of Internet search
5. Language skills including very good command of spoken and written English

7. Ability to work independently, proactive, and able to set priorities
8. Willingness and ability to learn, develop and to take responsibilities
9. Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
10. Flexibility to work under pressure, sense of urgency and to respond quickly to new demands

13. Basic financial literacy
