Design Philosophy

Architecture should be timeless. It ought to embrace progress without losing its distinctive
character.

Materials and architectural styles have evolved over time. The needs of a growing society
and advancing economy also develop and become more sophisticated. A space that withstands the
changes of time is established by timeless design. It should be utilitarian and visually pleasing, yet
sufficiently adaptable to adapt to contemporary times. It should symbolize the shared purpose of
society, imbue the narrative of its era into the general mind of the community, and reflect a public
space that consistently and flawlessly corresponds to its geographical context.

Design Concept
Critical Regionalism

To be able to adapt to the contemporary setting, architecture keeps amalgamating

throughout the world. The style of architecture constantly evolves to reflect developments in
society. Critical regionalism is key to maintaining the structures' character in the years to come. It
makes an attempt to counteract architecture's lack of sense of place and connection to its
surroundings. It is an architectural approach that highlights the distinctive features of a specific
location. It's an attempt at integrating indigenous elements and symbolism with the current design
and technological advances to create an identity. The design will incorporate the craft industries
of Bulacan, such as woodworking, textile weaving, and jewelry making, to bring back Tagalog
culture and crafts in a contemporary Philippine setting. This approach is more purposeful since it
takes into account a context that is much more ingrained in the setting.
