PM GATI SHAKTI NATIONAL MASTER PLAN
PM Gati Shakti brings together 16 Ministries and states for integrated planning and coordinated implementation to
catapult the speed of infrastructure connectivity projects and address gaps to ensure seamless movement of people,
goods & services.

Digital Platform leveraging technology including spatial planning tools with ISRO imagery

Driven by 7 Engines Roads, Railways, Airports, Ports, Mass Transport, Waterways & Logistics

Cover Infra Initiatives Bharatmala, Sagarmala, UDAN, Dedicated Freight Corridors, etc.

Provide Connectivity to Manufacturing/Economic Zones Textile and pharmaceutical clusters, industrial and
defence corridors, electronic parks & agriculture zones

Network Planning Group has recommended more than 63 infrastructure projects worth USD 55 Bn

30 Central portals and 36 States portals developed, over 1,500 layers of data and 1,300 issues already solved
5
PM GATI SHAKTI NATIONAL MASTER PLAN

PM Gati Shakti: innovative initiatives (1/2)

 Identification of critical infrastructure gaps to ports has been done under Comprehensive Port
Connectivity Plan for Road and Rail connectivity.

 Identification of infrastructure gaps in movement of bulk commodities such as coal, cement,

fertilizers and foodgrains have been identified

 Using PM GatiShakti NMP, inland water terminals are being developed to enable transportation of
cargo and bring down logistics cost by enabling modal shift in freight movement from roads to
waterways.

 Optimum alignment of power lines is being undertaken by avoiding ecologically sensitive areas and
railways crossings etc. on the way.

 DPRs for National highways and Railway lines are being developed in half the time otherwise
required through traditional methods.
6
PM GATI SHAKTI NATIONAL MASTER PLAN

Innovative initiatives (2/2)

 Area Approach to develop 100 locations/economic nodes across the country.

 Vision of Area Approach is to create adequate infrastructure for catalysing socio-economic

development in a sustainable manner within a rational geographical location through a
convergence approach.

 Promote comprehensive, holistic, and integrated infrastructure development across the

country, along with bridging critical infrastructure gaps, and addressing relative
infrastructure deficit.

 Identification of strategic location having area of 150-200 sq. kms. around various economic
nodes that will be saturated with adequate infrastructure and enhanced last mile
connectivity.
