I. TITLE: CAMPUS JOURNALISM TRAINING

V. RATIONALE:
In accordance with the pertinent provisions RA 7079 otherwise known as
the Campus Journalism Act of 1991, institution of leanings are enjoined to
promote the development and growth of campus journalism as a means of
strengthening critical and creative thinking of students in the tertiary level.
Furthermore, campus journalism plays a pivotal role in an institution. It
prepares campus journalists to be responsible writers who exercise their right
to free speech. This activity will help them improve their journalistic writing
abilities in order to follow one of journalism's core principles: truth and
accuracy.
VI. OBJECTIVE/S:
1. Capacitate student-writers the technicalities of campus journalism;
2. Update participants on the latest trends, approaches, and principles
of journalistic writing in view of the new normal in education;
3. It also seeks to promote the right to access information, knowledge,
and data necessary to strengthen journalistic values;
4. Scout for the editorial staff who will help in the production of the
campus paper; and
5. Recognize the effort of the student-writers by giving due recognition to
the best written outputs.
