literature that will revive the campus journalism within schools and elementary level education
curriculum. This will enhance new journalist to sustain the heart of campus journalism within the
youth.

VII. Project Description

a. Background of the project

As a student early exposed to campus journalism, this will enable children and young
learners to learn as I have. I figured that through proper expposure and early implementation,
these young learners will be able to further reach their academic, journalistic, lingusitic,
communication, and literacy skills through writing and journalism. This inspired me to create
a project, initiate a platform for them to learn with professionals and be exposed to
journalism in a early stage in their lives.

We all know that there is a rise in the demand of media practitioners that are epuipped
with proper talent in writing and journalism in all its fields. It is believed that the nation, the
Philippines lacks truthful and equipped journalist. This project, in the long run will be able to
train youth as soon as possible for the youth will lead the new generation of professionals in
this new era of technological advancements. With this training the youth is an essential
influence of this project’s fuel.

Training the youth requires the right and proper equipment. That is why we are able to
come up with a project headed by the Literacy Training Service of Bicol University National
Training Service Program. We are equipped and trained with the knowledge and connections
to properly implement projects like this to help the community. In the field of literacy,
journalism is a breeding ground for great writers and educators. This enabled us to come up
with the goal of training young journalist, exposed in early education for a better planting of
information that will someday be fruit-bearing students like ourselves.

b. Justification of the project

Its a must to train students in their early years for the brain adapts to such working
environments and educational exposure. Also, with the help of prestigious professors within
the College of Arts and Letter, it is entrusted that they will deliver to the fullest extent to train
these youth. Journalism is transformative, this will create an army of advocates and writers
that spark change within the society.

c. Benefits derived from the project

This project will expose students and the youth to writing and journalism, enhancing
their abilities and skills early on. This will create a better momentum for them to use in the
coming years of their education. However, this subject solely aims to produce journalists,
trained and equipped with proper knowledge from media practitioners that are able to share
their wisdom. This will benefit those students in the early stages ans then later on, benefit the
society with abled and skilled journalists.
